Deep-Live-Cam is designed to be a productive tool for the AI-generated media industry. It helps artists animate custom characters, create engaging content, and prototype clothing or costume design on digital models. At the same time, the project team is fully aware that face-swapping technology can be misused, and has built both technical safeguards and explicit use requirements into the software. Using Deep-Live-Cam means accepting these terms.Documentation Index

Intended use
The intended applications for Deep-Live-Cam are creative and productive:- Animating custom or fictional characters in real time
- Creating entertainment content, memes, and short-form video
- Live shows, performances, and interactive presentations
- Clothing and costume design on digital models
- AI-generated media production where all parties consent

Ethical use requirements
Obtain consent when using a real person's face
Obtain consent when using a real person's face
If you use a photograph of a real person as the source face, you must obtain that person’s explicit consent before using their likeness. This applies to public figures as well as private individuals.Using someone’s face without consent to generate deepfake content — especially content that is embarrassing, defamatory, or sexual — is an ethical violation and may constitute identity theft, defamation, or non-consensual intimate imagery depending on your jurisdiction.
Label output as a deepfake when sharing online
Label output as a deepfake when sharing online
Any output you create with Deep-Live-Cam and share publicly must be clearly identified as AI-generated or deepfake content. Presenting deepfake media as authentic footage — in news, social media, video calls, or any public context — is deceptive and potentially illegal.Practically, this means adding a visible label, caption, or watermark to videos and images before publishing them.
Content restrictions
Deep-Live-Cam includes a built-in content filter powered by opennsfw2 that automatically prevents the application from processing:- Nudity and sexually explicit content
- Graphic violence and gore
- Sensitive material such as war footage
