chrome://flags affect every site you visit. If you use ExitLag, enabling it for Chrome routes all your browser traffic through the VPN — including banking, streaming, and work tabs. And game-specific settings like aggressive GPU flags or disabled Energy Saver can interfere with battery life on a laptop.
The solution is a dedicated browser used exclusively for the game. This guide walks you through picking one, testing it, and getting it fully configured.
Step 1 — Install a Dedicated Browser
You have two good options. Pick the one that suits your setup.Microsoft Edge
Recommended for most players. Edge is already installed on every modern Windows PC. It runs the same Chromium engine as Chrome, supports all the same
edge://flags tweaks, and often grants a larger storage quota than Chrome. Using Edge as your game browser keeps your main Chrome installation completely untouched.Chrome Beta
A separate Chrome release channel that installs alongside your main Chrome installation without overwriting it. Download from
google.com/chrome/beta. Useful if you prefer a Chrome-identical experience and already use Edge for something else.Avoid using a Chrome Profile instead of a separate browser. Profiles share the same
chrome://flags settings, so performance flags you set for the game will still affect your other profiles.Step 2 — Test Your Browser
Before investing time in configuration, confirm that the new browser meets the minimum requirements for the Web Client. Follow the full Browser Test guide using your dedicated browser. Pay particular attention to the Unmasked Renderer check atwebglreport.com/?v=2. It should show your real GPU — not a software renderer — before you proceed.
Step 3 — Apply Performance Settings
With a dedicated browser, you can apply aggressive performance flags without worrying about their effect on everyday browsing. Follow the performance troubleshooting guide using the flags page for your chosen browser:-

Step 4 — Install the Game as an App
Installing the Web Client as an app from within your dedicated browser gives you a standalone window that launches directly into the game and requests persistent storage so your downloaded game files are never auto-evicted. Follow the Install the Game as an App guide using your dedicated browser. The resulting shortcut will open only the game, not the full browser UI.Step 5 — Add the Dedicated Browser to ExitLag (Optional)
If you use ExitLag to reduce latency, add your dedicated browser to ExitLag rather than your main Chrome installation. This way, only game traffic is routed through the VPN.- For Microsoft Edge, add
msedge.exeto ExitLag. - For Chrome Beta, find the
chrome.exeinside the Chrome Beta installation folder (typicallyC:\Program Files\Google\Chrome Beta\Application\chrome.exe) and add that path.
