Overview

This guide will help you get started with Seguridad, covering your first login, understanding the interface, and performing common tasks. Whether you’re an administrator, regional unit operator, or consultation user, this guide will help you navigate the system effectively.

First Login

Access the Login Page

Navigate to your Seguridad installation URL:
http://your-server-address/index.php
You’ll see the Seguridad login screen with the system header and a login form.

Enter Credentials

Enter your username and password:
  • Usuario (Username): Your assigned username
  • Contraseña (Password): Your assigned password
If this is your first login, use the credentials provided by your system administrator.

Click INGRESAR

Click the INGRESAR (Login) button to access the system.
Both username and password fields are required. You’ll receive an alert if either field is empty.

Automatic Redirect

Upon successful login, you’ll be automatically redirected to your assigned dashboard based on your permission level:
  • Regional Units (UR 1-15): Unit-specific dashboard
  • Administrators: Administrative control panel
  • Consultation Users: Read-only query interface
  • Specialized Units: Specific module dashboards

Understanding User Roles

Your access level determines which features and data you can view or modify:

Regional Unit Operators

Permissions: 1-15Access to specific regional unit (UR) data:
  • Register incidents and preventivos
  • Manage regional cases
  • Generate unit reports
  • Access unit-specific records

System Administrators

Permission: 0, 100Full system access:
  • Manage all users
  • Configure system settings
  • Access all regional data
  • Generate system-wide reports

Consultation Users

Permissions: 20, 200Read-only access:
  • Query incident database
  • View statistics
  • Generate reports
  • No data modification

Specialized Units

Various CodesSpecialized access:

The system uses a horizontal menu bar with dropdown options. The menu structure includes:
Data Entry Section - Create new records:
  • Preventivos: Main incident reports
  • Maltrato Animal: Animal abuse cases
  • Suicidios: Suicide incidents
  • Accidente de Transito: Traffic accidents
  • Fuga de Hogar: Missing persons/runaways
  • Delitos Federales: Federal crimes
  • Homicidio: Homicide cases
  • Vehiculos Robados: Stolen vehicles
  • Moto Chorros: Motorcycle thefts
  • Parte Jefe de Turno: Shift supervisor reports

Session Management

The system maintains your session while you’re active:
  • Session Duration: Sessions persist while you’re active
  • Inactivity Timeout: Configurable (default: 10 minutes, may be disabled)
  • Session Variables: Username, password, and permission level stored
  • Logout: Always use the SALIR button to properly end your session
Your session information includes your username (_usr), permissions (_categoria), and last access time. This data determines what you can see and do in the system.

Common Tasks

Registering a New Incident (Preventivo)

Preventivos are the primary incident reports in the system.

Navigate to Data Entry

From the main menu:
  1. Hover over CARGA DE DATOS
  2. Click Preventivos

Complete the Form

Fill in all required incident details:
  • Date and time of incident
  • Location information
  • Type of incident/crime
  • Involved parties
  • Description and observations
  • Regional unit assignment

Submit the Report

Review your information and submit the form.
Make sure all required fields are completed. The system will alert you if mandatory information is missing.

Note the Preventivo Number

After submission, note the generated preventivo number for future reference and tracking.

Searching for Existing Records

To find a specific incident report:
  1. Navigate to CONSULTA > Buscar Preventivo
  2. Enter the preventivo number
  3. Click search to view full details
  4. Review incident information, status, and history
This search is available to all users with consultation privileges.

Viewing Statistics and Maps

Access Statistics

Navigate to CONSULTA and select the category you want to analyze.Available statistical views:
  • Crime statistics by type and region
  • Traffic accident trends
  • Operational efficiency metrics
  • Regional comparisons

View Geographic Data

For spatial analysis:
  1. Go to CONSULTA > Mapa
  2. View incident locations on interactive map

Generate Reports

Most query pages offer report generation:
  • Select your filters and date ranges
  • Click generate/view report
  • Export data for further analysis (if available)

Managing Operations

For users with operational permissions:

  1. Navigate to CARGA DE DATOS > Operativos
  2. Select operation type:
    • Standard operation
    • Integral operation (comprehensive)
  3. Complete operation details:
    • Date, time, and duration
    • Participating units
    • Operation objectives
    • Location and scope

During or after the operation:
  • Record detentions and seizures
  • Document evidence collected
  • Link related preventivos

To analyze operations:

  • Victim information and safety status
  • Aggressor details
  • Incident description and severity

Domestic violence cases require immediate attention and proper documentation for legal proceedings.

Shift Supervisor Reports

Shift supervisors must complete duty reports:

Day Shift (PARTE 07-19)

  1. Navigate to CARGA DE DATOS > Parte Jefe de Turno > PARTE 07-19
  2. Document shift activities (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM)
  3. Include:
    • Personnel on duty
    • Major incidents
    • Resource allocation
    • Issues or concerns

Night Shift (PARTE 19-07)

  1. Navigate to CARGA DE DATOS > Parte Jefe de Turno > PARTE 19-07
  2. Document shift activities (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
  3. Same information requirements as day shift

User Management (Administrators)

System administrators can manage users:

  • Complete shift reports on time
