NuvioTV shows no content on the Home screen until at least one addon is installed. Step 3 below is the most important step — skip it and the app will appear empty.
Launch NuvioTV and sign in (or skip)
The very first time you open NuvioTV you will see an account sign-in screen with a QR code. Scanning the code opens the NuvioTV sign-in page (
https://nuvio.tv/tv-login) on your phone, where you can create or log in to an account.Signing in enables:- Multi-profile support with PIN protection
- Settings and watch history sync across devices via Supabase
- Automatic profile pulling on first launch
Choose your experience mode
After the sign-in step, NuvioTV asks you to choose an experience mode. This controls which settings surfaces and features are visible throughout the app.
Select a card and NuvioTV saves your choice immediately and takes you to the main app (or to the addon setup screen if you chose Essential and have no addons yet).

Install your first addon
Navigate to Settings in the sidebar, then select Add-ons from the Content & Discovery section. The Add-on Manager screen offers two ways to install addons:
- Paste a manifest URL
- QR code (phone browser)
Every Stremio-compatible addon publishes a
manifest.json file at a well-known URL. To install one:- Focus the URL input field at the top of the Add-on Manager screen.

Enter the full manifest URL, for example:
- Press the Install button (or confirm with the D-pad center key).
/manifest.json. If an addon’s website gives you a stremio:// link, replace stremio:// with https:// and the path should resolve to the manifest.Browse or search for a title
After installing an addon, return to the Home screen (house icon in the sidebar). The addon’s catalogs appear as horizontally scrollable rows, grouped by type (movies, series, etc.).To find something specific, navigate to Search (magnifying glass icon in the sidebar). Type a title using the on-screen keyboard — results are federated across all installed addons that support search.Navigating down from the sidebar automatically focuses the first content row on the active screen, so you can start browsing immediately with the D-pad.
Select a stream and play
Select any title from the Home or Search screen to open its Detail page. Here you will see metadata (synopsis, cast, year, rating) and — for series — a season/episode picker.From the Detail page you have two options:Auto-play — Press the primary Play button. NuvioTV queries all installed addons for available streams, applies your debrid resolver (if configured), and automatically starts the highest-quality match.Manual stream selection — Press Choose stream (or navigate to the stream list panel). Each stream entry shows its source addon name, resolution, and quality badges. Highlight a stream and confirm to start playback.Once playback begins, the player overlays standard TV controls: play/pause, seek bar, audio track switcher, subtitle track switcher, and a stream sources panel for switching mid-playback.
For significantly better stream quality and reliability, configure a debrid service after your first playback. Go to Settings → Debrid, choose Torbox or Premiumize, and complete the device-code authentication flow. Once configured, NuvioTV resolves torrent-backed addon streams directly through your debrid account.

Now that you have NuvioTV running with your first addon, explore these areas:- Add more addons — The more addons you install, the broader your content catalog. You can reorder catalog rows in Advanced mode under Settings → Catalog order.
- Configure debrid — Go to Settings → Debrid to link Torbox, Premiumize, or Real-Debrid for fast, cached stream resolution.
- Connect Trakt — Go to Settings → Trakt to enable automatic watch history scrobbling.
- Manage profiles — Go to Settings → Account → Manage profiles to create additional profiles with independent watch histories and settings.
