By using Niko in your Discord server, you agree to these Terms of Service. These terms govern use of the official hosted Niko instance.

Acceptable Use

  • You may use Niko for personal, community, and non-commercial server management purposes.
  • You must comply with Discord’s Terms of Service and Community Guidelines at all times.
  • Server administrators are responsible for how Niko is configured and used within their server, including any commands enabled or channels designated for particular features.

Prohibited Use

The following uses are strictly prohibited:
  • Using Niko to harass, spam, or harm other users
  • Attempting to abuse, exploit, or reverse-engineer the bot
  • Using NSFW commands in channels not designated as NSFW
  • Using economy or casino features to facilitate real-money gambling
  • Attempting to access or modify other users’ data
  • Automating interactions with the bot in ways that violate Discord’s API Terms of Service
The bot operator reserves the right to blacklist any user or server from using Niko at any time and for any reason, including but not limited to violations of these terms.

AI Content

  • AI-generated responses are produced by third-party LLM providers (currently OpenAI) and may occasionally be inaccurate, incomplete, or unexpected.
  • Do not rely on AI responses for medical, legal, financial, or safety-critical decisions. Always verify important information from authoritative sources.

Service Availability

  • The official Niko instance is provided on a best-effort basis without uptime guarantees. Downtime may occur without prior notice.
  • Features may be added, modified, restricted, or removed at any time.
  • For self-hosted instances: you are solely responsible for maintaining your own deployment, including uptime, security, and compliance with applicable laws.
All in-bot currency and virtual items have no real-world monetary value and cannot be exchanged for real money or goods. Virtual balances may be reset or wiped at any time without notice or compensation.

Liability Limitation

Niko is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind, express or implied. The developers and operators of Niko are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from:
  • Use of or inability to use the bot
  • Reliance on AI-generated content
  • Data loss resulting from service interruptions or resets
  • Actions taken by server administrators using the bot’s moderation features

Modifications

These terms may be updated at any time. Continued use of the bot after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. Material changes will be announced in the support server so users have an opportunity to review them.
