Chronicle is designed to be driven from the keyboard. Every common action has a shortcut, and the most frequent action — resuming the last session — works system-wide without opening any UI.
Main window
These shortcuts are active when the Chronicle main window is focused.
| Shortcut | Action |
|---|
⌘K | Focus the global search field |
⌘1 | Switch to the Sessions tab |
⌘2 | Switch to the Stats tab |
⌘Y | Quick Look the selected session (300×480 popover, ~40 lines, Esc to dismiss) |
⌘, | Open Settings |
↑ / ↓ | Move the selection in any list |
↵ | Resume the selected session in the default terminal |
⌘↵ | Open the terminal picker for the selected session |
System-wide
These shortcuts work from anywhere on the system, even when Chronicle is not the frontmost app.
| Shortcut | Action |
|---|
⌘⇧O | Toggle the menubar dropdown open or closed |
⌘⇧↵ | Resume the most-recently-modified session in the default terminal (no UI) |
⌘⇧↵ is the fastest path back into your last session — it fires the resume command immediately, with no window to open or row to select.
These shortcuts are active when the menubar dropdown is open.
| Shortcut | Action |
|---|
⌘1 – ⌘9 | Launch the Nth visible row |
⎋ | Dismiss the dropdown |
⌘1 through ⌘9 in the menubar dropdown are independent of ⌘1 and ⌘2 in the main window. The tab-switching shortcuts only apply when the main window is focused; the row-launch shortcuts only apply when the dropdown is open.
