Lake Braddock Secondary School Model UN (LBSSMUN) is the official Model United Nations club at Lake Braddock Secondary School in Burke, Virginia. The club runs separate programs for High School and Middle School students, participates in Model UN conferences across Northern Virginia, and hosts its own conference — LBMUN I.

High School Program

Meetings every Monday in Mrs. Kratz’s room (H211). Open to all LBSS high school students.

Middle School Program

Meetings every Wednesday in Ms. Sypher’s room (H212). Open to all LBSS middle school students.

LBMUN I Conference

Lake Braddock’s first Model UN conference — committees, schedule, policies, and delegate information.

MUN Chair Tools

A browser-based utility for chairs to manage motions, run timers, and track committee sessions.

What is Model UN?

Model United Nations is an educational simulation in which students role-play as delegates to the United Nations, representing member states and debating global issues. Participants develop skills in public speaking, research, negotiation, and diplomacy — all within the framework of UN parliamentary procedure.

Fill out the interest form

Let us know you’re interested by completing the interest form. It takes less than two minutes.

Attend a meeting

Show up to your first meeting — Mondays (H211) for High School students or Wednesdays (H212) for Middle School students.

Join a committee

Get assigned to a committee, receive your country assignment, and start preparing your position paper.

Compete and chair

Participate in local and regional MUN conferences, and eventually chair your own committee sessions using our Chair Tools.

About LBMUN I

As a veteran participant in Northern Virginia Model UN, Lake Braddock is proud to present LBMUN I — the school’s first hosted conference. The conference is dedicated to preserving integrity, inspiration, and intrigue, and is open to delegates from schools across the region.
