This guide shows you how to customize all the text content in your portfolio, from the main heading to navigation menu items.
Main Section Content
The hero section is the first thing visitors see. It contains your title and description.
Update your professional title
Open index.html and find line 28: < h2 > Desarrollador Full Stack </ h2 >
Change this to your own title: < h2 > Senior Frontend Developer </ h2 >
<!-- or -->
< h2 > Creative Web Designer </ h2 >
<!-- or -->
< h2 > Full Stack Engineer & UI/UX Specialist </ h2 >
Update your description
On line 29, update the description text: < p > Soy un desarrollador web con experiencia en el desarrollo de aplicaciones web. </ p >
Replace with your own introduction: < p > I build modern, responsive web applications with a focus on user experience and performance. </ p >
Keep it concise - 1-2 sentences works best for the hero section.
Your professional title and description are crucial for SEO and first impressions. Make them clear, specific, and memorable.
The navigation menu appears at the top of the page (index.html:17-20).
Customize menu items
Find the navigation list in index.html: < ul class = "menu" >
< li class = "nav-link" >< a href = "#main" > Quien Soy </ a ></ li >
< li class = "nav-link" >< a href = "#Habilidades" > Habilidades </ a ></ li >
< li class = "nav-link" >< a href = "#proyectos" > Proyectos </ a ></ li >
< li class = "nav-link" >< a href = "#contacto" > Contáctame </ a ></ li >
</ ul >
Change menu text
Update the link text to English or your preferred language: < ul class = "menu" >
< li class = "nav-link" >< a href = "#main" > About </ a ></ li >
< li class = "nav-link" >< a href = "#Habilidades" > Skills </ a ></ li >
< li class = "nav-link" >< a href = "#proyectos" > Projects </ a ></ li >
< li class = "nav-link" >< a href = "#contacto" > Contact </ a ></ li >
</ ul >
Add or remove menu items
To add a new menu item, insert a new list item: < li class = "nav-link" >< a href = "#blog" > Blog </ a ></ li >
Make sure the href matches the id of the corresponding section.
If you change the navigation links, make sure to update the corresponding section IDs in the HTML. The href="#proyectos" must match id="proyectos" for smooth scrolling to work.
Section Headings
Each section has a heading that you can customize.
Skills Section
Find line 37 in index.html:
Change to:
< h2 > Technical Skills </ h2 >
<!-- or -->
< h2 > What I Work With </ h2 >
Projects Section
Find line 50:
Change to:
< h2 > Featured Projects </ h2 >
<!-- or -->
< h2 > My Work </ h2 >
Find line 55:
Change to:
< h2 > Get In Touch </ h2 >
<!-- or -->
< h2 > Contact Me </ h2 >
Adding Projects
The projects section is currently empty (lines 50-52). Here’s how to add your projects:
Locate the projects section
Find this section in index.html: < section id = "proyectos" >
< h2 > Mis Proyectos </ h2 >
< div ></ div >
</ section >
Add project cards
Replace the empty <div></div> with project content: < section id = "proyectos" >
< h2 > Featured Projects </ h2 >
< div class = "projects-grid" >
< div class = "project-card" >
< h3 > E-Commerce Platform </ h3 >
< p > A full-stack shopping application built with React and Node.js </ p >
< a href = "https://github.com/yourusername/project" > View Project </ a >
</ div >
< div class = "project-card" >
< h3 > Task Management App </ h3 >
< p > Collaborative task manager with real-time updates using WebSockets </ p >
< a href = "https://github.com/yourusername/project2" > View Project </ a >
</ div >
</ div >
</ section >
Style the project cards (optional)
Add CSS to styles.css to style your project cards: .projects-grid {
display : grid ;
grid-template-columns : repeat ( auto-fit , minmax ( 300 px , 1 fr ));
gap : 2 rem ;
padding : 2 rem ;
max-width : 1200 px ;
margin : 0 auto ;
}
.project-card {
background-color : rgba ( 255 , 255 , 255 , 0.05 );
padding : 1.5 rem ;
border-radius : 8 px ;
border : 1 px solid rgba ( 255 , 255 , 255 , 0.1 );
}
.project-card h3 {
color : #0094a8 ;
margin-top : 0 ;
}
.project-card a {
color : #003ba8 ;
text-decoration : none ;
font-weight : bold ;
}
The contact section is also empty (lines 54-56). Here’s how to add contact details:
Add contact methods
Find the contact section in index.html: < section id = "contacto" >
< h2 > Contacto </ h2 >
</ section >
Insert contact information
Add your contact details: < section id = "contacto" >
< h2 > Get In Touch </ h2 >
< div class = "contact-info" >
< p > I'd love to hear from you! Reach out via: </ p >
< ul class = "contact-list" >
< li > Email: < a href = "mailto:luis@example.com" > luis@example.com </ a ></ li >
< li > LinkedIn: < a href = "https://linkedin.com/in/yourusername" > linkedin.com/in/yourusername </ a ></ li >
< li > GitHub: < a href = "https://github.com/yourusername" > github.com/yourusername </ a ></ li >
< li > Phone: < a href = "tel:+1234567890" > +1 (234) 567-890 </ a ></ li >
</ ul >
</ div >
</ section >
Style the contact section
Add styling to styles.css: .contact-info {
max-width : 600 px ;
margin : 2 rem auto ;
padding : 0 1 rem ;
}
.contact-list {
list-style : none ;
padding : 0 ;
}
.contact-list li {
margin : 1 rem 0 ;
font-size : 1.1 rem ;
}
.contact-list a {
color : #0094a8 ;
text-decoration : none ;
}
.contact-list a :hover {
text-decoration : underline ;
}
Consider adding a contact form using a service like Formspree or Netlify Forms instead of just listing contact information.
Updating the Page Title
The browser tab title is set on line 7 of index.html:
< title > Luis Llatas | Portafolio </ title >
Change it to your name:
< title > Your Name | Portfolio </ title >
<!-- or -->
< title > Your Name - Web Developer </ title >
Updating the Logo
The header logo is a placeholder image on line 15:
< h1 >< img src = "https://placehold.co/140x40/f0f0f0/333?text=Luis+Llatas" alt = "Luis Llatas" ></ h1 >
Replace with your own logo or text:
<!-- Option 1: Your own logo image -->
< h1 >< img src = "/img/logo.png" alt = "Your Name" ></ h1 >
<!-- Option 2: Text logo -->
< h1 > Your Name </ h1 >
Best Practices

Keep headings concise and descriptive
Use proper HTML heading hierarchy (h1 → h2 → h3)
