Installation overview
HLS Downloader is available for all major browsers. The installation method varies depending on whether your browser has an official store listing or requires manual installation.Newer versions (≥ 4.1.2) ship only as ZIP archives. Older versions can still be installed from CRX files (see legacy notes below).
Official store installations

Install from Firefox Add-ons
The easiest way to install HLS Downloader on Firefox is through the official add-ons store:- Visit the HLS Downloader add-on page
- Click Add to Firefox
- Confirm the permissions prompt
- You’re ready to go!
Manual installation (temporary)
For testing or development purposes:Download the extension
Get the latest
.xpi file from the releases pageManual installation (Chromium browsers)
Chrome, Brave, Arc, and Opera require manual installation using the developer mode. All these browsers use the same.zip package.

Download the extension
Download
extension-mv3-chrome.zip from the latest releaseLoad unpacked extension
Click Load unpacked and select the extracted folder (the one containing
manifest.json)Chrome currently has an experimental MV3 build available from source. See the Development guide for build instructions.
Legacy installation (versions < 4.1.2)
Verify installation
After installation, you should see the HLS Downloader icon in your browser toolbar. If you don’t see it:- Click the puzzle icon (extensions menu) in your toolbar
- Find HLS Downloader in the list
- Click the pin icon to keep it visible
