Canvas Card-Materializer can be installed in two ways: directly from the Obsidian Community Plugins browser (the quickest route once the plugin is officially listed) or manually by downloading the release assets from GitHub and placing them in your vault’s plugin folder. Both methods produce an identical result — choose whichever fits your workflow.
Canvas Card-Materializer requires Obsidian 1.4.0 or higher. Check your current version in Settings → About before installing.
Obsidian’s Restricted Mode must be disabled before you can install or enable any community plugin, including Canvas Card-Materializer. Restricted Mode blocks all third-party code from running; disabling it is required to proceed.
1

Open Obsidian Settings

Click the gear icon in the bottom-left corner of Obsidian, or press Ctrl+, (Windows / Linux) / Cmd+, (macOS) to open the Settings panel.
2

Navigate to Community Plugins

In the left sidebar of Settings, scroll down and click Community plugins.
3

Disable Restricted Mode

If the Restricted mode toggle is on, click Turn on community plugins (or toggle the switch off). Confirm the prompt that appears. Restricted Mode is now disabled.
4

Search for Canvas Card-Materializer

Click the Browse button next to “Community plugins”. In the search bar that appears, type Canvas Card-Materializer. The plugin by redsheep913 will appear in the results.
5

Install and Enable

Click the plugin entry to open its detail page, then click Install. Once installation completes, click Enable to activate it immediately. You will see a confirmation notice in Obsidian.
