Overview

Gridfinity Builder includes preset configurations for popular 3D printers and common bin types. These presets provide quick starting points for designing storage layouts.

Grid Presets

Grid presets define baseplate sizes for different 3D printer build volumes.

Grid Size Calculation

For example, a 6×6 grid:
  • Width: 6 × 42mm = 252mm
  • Depth: 6 × 42mm = 252mm
Grid presets are optimized to fit within printer build volumes with some margin for brim/skirt. The “A1” preset is marked as the default.

Using Presets

Presets provide quick starting points:
  1. Grid presets — Select a printer preset to set baseplate size
  2. Bin presets — Add pre-configured bins to your layout
  3. Layout templates — Load complete workspace templates
  4. Customize — Modify any preset to fit your specific needs
All presets use the same underlying bin configuration system, so you can adjust dimensions, features, and parameters after adding them to your layout.
Layout templates demonstrate best practices for organizing different workspace types and serve as starting points for custom designs.
