Simple Alarm Clock provides a straightforward interface for creating and managing alarms. This guide walks you through the alarm creation process and available configuration options.

Creating a new alarm

1

Add a new alarm

Tap the add button to create a new alarm. A time picker will automatically appear for new alarms.
2

Set the time

Select the hour and minute when you want the alarm to ring. The time picker adapts to your device’s 12-hour or 24-hour format setting.
3

Configure alarm options

Customize your alarm with additional settings:
  • Label: Add a descriptive name for your alarm
  • Repeat pattern: Choose which days the alarm should repeat
  • Ringtone: Select the sound that will play
  • Pre-alarm: Enable a gentle wake-up period before the main alarm
  • Vibrate: Toggle vibration on or off
4

Save the alarm

Tap the save button to create your alarm. The alarm will be enabled automatically.
When you create a new alarm, it’s automatically enabled unless you explicitly disable it before saving.

Alarm properties

Each alarm in Simple Alarm Clock includes the following configurable properties:

Time

The hour and minute when the alarm should ring. The alarm uses your device’s 24-hour or 12-hour format preference.

Label

An optional text label to help identify the alarm’s purpose. Labels appear in the alarm list and in notifications.
Use descriptive labels like “Morning workout” or “Take medication” to quickly identify alarms at a glance.

Enabled state

Controls whether the alarm is active. Disabled alarms remain in your list but won’t ring until you enable them again.

Ringtone

The sound that plays when the alarm fires. Options include:
  • Default: Uses the app’s default ringtone setting
  • System default: Uses your device’s default alarm sound
  • Silent: No sound (vibration only, if enabled)
  • Custom sound: Choose any ringtone or audio file from your device

Vibration

When enabled, the device vibrates when the alarm rings. Vibration works alongside or independently of the ringtone.
Vibration is enabled by default for new alarms. You can disable it per alarm or globally in settings.

Editing alarms

To modify an existing alarm:
  1. Tap the alarm in your alarm list
  2. The alarm details screen opens with all current settings
  3. Make your changes to any property
  4. Tap save to apply changes, or revert to discard them

Quick enable/disable

You can quickly enable or disable an alarm without opening the details screen by tapping the toggle switch next to the alarm in the list.

Alarm validation

Simple Alarm Clock validates alarm settings before saving:
  • One-time alarms with a specific date must be set for a future time
  • The alarm details screen displays an error if the selected date and time are in the past
  • The save button is disabled until you correct any validation errors
If you set a one-time alarm for a past date and time, the app will prevent you from saving until you update it to a future time.

Deleting alarms

To remove an alarm:
  1. Open the alarm details screen
  2. Look for the delete option (typically in the overflow menu)
  3. Confirm deletion
Alarms can also be configured to delete automatically after dismissal (see the scheduling guide for details).
