The indicator detail page is where you analyze time-series data for a single indicator. It includes an interactive chart, filter controls, metadata, and links to data sources.

Reaching an indicator

Click any indicator card in the catalog (at /indicators or from search results) to navigate to its detail page at /indicator/:id.

Page layout overview

The page is divided into three main areas:
  • Header — indicator name, description, and navigation dropdowns.
  • Chart panel — interactive time-series visualization with type and granularity controls.
  • Sidebar — two collapsible panels: Ferramentas (Tools) for data filters and Opções (Options) for exports.
Below the chart, a metadata panel and a Sources table provide full context for the indicator.
1

Open an indicator

Click an indicator card from the catalog or search results. The page loads at /indicator/:id.
2

Change domain with IndicatorDropdowns

The IndicatorDropdowns component at the top of the page lets you navigate without going back to the catalog:
  1. Select a Domain from the first dropdown.
  2. The Subdomain dropdown updates to show only dimensions within that domain.
  3. Select a Subdomain to filter the indicator list.
  4. Select an Indicator from the third dropdown.
The page navigates to the selected indicator automatically.
3

Explore the chart

The chart loads the most recent data by default. Use the chart controls to zoom, change granularity, or apply a date range filter. See Working with charts for full details.
4

Use the Ferramentas panel

Open the Ferramentas (Tools) sidebar panel to access:
  • Granularity buttons: Raw, Dia, Sem, Mês, Ano.
  • Start date and End date inputs to narrow the time window.
  • Reset button to clear all filters and return to the default view.
5

Export data or image

Open the Opções (Options) sidebar panel to access:
  • Exportar CSV — download the current data as a CSV file.
  • Exportar como imagem — save the chart as a PNG.
  • Copiar Referência — copy the URL of this indicator to your clipboard.
See Exporting data as CSV and Exporting chart as image for details.
6

Review metadata

Scroll below the chart to read the indicator metadata panel and the Sources table.

Chart panel

The chart displays time-series data for the indicator. By default it loads the most recent data points. Key controls:
  • Chart type — switch between Line and Bar using the icons in the Views component above the chart.
  • Toolbar — zoom in by clicking and dragging, pan with the pan tool, and reset the view with the reset button.
  • Lazy loading — when you zoom or pan to the left edge of the chart (older data), the platform automatically fetches additional historical data points. A loading indicator appears while data is being retrieved.
For a full explanation of granularity, date range, and lazy loading, see Working with charts.

Indicator metadata panel

The metadata panel below the chart shows structured information about the indicator:
FieldDescription
SourceThe organization or system that provides the data
ScaleGeographic or administrative scope
UnitUnit of measurement (e.g., %, nights, tonnes)
PeriodicityHow frequently data is updated (e.g., monthly, annual)
GovernanceWhether this is classified as a governance indicator
DomainTop-level thematic area
SubdomainDimension within the domain

Sources table

Below the metadata panel, the Sources table lists all data sources linked to this indicator. Each row shows:
  • Name — the name of the linked resource.
  • Start period — the earliest date covered by this source.
  • End period — the most recent date covered by this source.
  • CSV icon — click to download data from this specific source as a CSV file.
An indicator can have multiple sources, each covering a different time period. If you need data from a specific source only, use the per-source CSV export in the Sources table rather than the global export.
