Use a different password for each account

Password Manager

Consider using a password manager to generate and store secure passwords

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

Add an extra layer of security to your account with two-factor authentication.

Understanding 2FA

Two-factor authentication requires two forms of verification:
  1. Your password (something you know)
  2. A time-based code from your phone (something you have)

Enabling Two-Factor Authentication

1

Navigate to 2FA Settings

Click Two-Factor Auth in the settings sidebar. You’ll see a badge showing current status: Disabled (red) or Enabled (default).
2

Enable 2FA

If 2FA is currently disabled:
  1. Read the information about how 2FA works
  2. Click the Enable 2FA button (shield-check icon)
  3. Wait for the setup modal to appear
3

Set Up Authenticator App

A modal will guide you through setup:
  1. Install a TOTP-supported app on your phone (like Google Authenticator, Authy, or Microsoft Authenticator)
  2. Scan the QR code displayed in the modal
  3. Enter the 6-digit code from your authenticator app
  4. Confirm to complete setup
4

Save Recovery Codes

Important: Save your recovery codes in a secure location.
  • Recovery codes allow access if you lose your phone
  • Each code can only be used once
  • Store them securely offline
If you exit the setup process before confirming, you can click Continue Setup to resume where you left off.

Managing 2FA When Enabled

Once 2FA is enabled, you can: View Recovery Codes
  • Access your saved recovery codes
  • Generate new codes if needed
  • Download or print for safekeeping
Disable 2FA
  • Click the red Disable 2FA button (shield-ban icon)
  • Confirm your decision
  • 2FA will be removed from your account
Disabling 2FA reduces your account security. Only disable if absolutely necessary.

Using 2FA During Login

Once enabled, the login process changes:
  1. Enter your email and password as usual
  2. You’ll be prompted for a 2FA code
  3. Open your authenticator app
  4. Enter the current 6-digit code
  5. Click verify to complete login
If you lose access to your authenticator app:
  1. Use one of your recovery codes to log in
  2. Go to 2FA settings and disable 2FA
  3. Set up 2FA again with a new authenticator app
  4. Save your new recovery codes
If you’ve lost both your authenticator app and recovery codes, contact support for account recovery assistance.
