SolBid uses Solana blockchain for all game transactions. Before you can create or join games, you need to connect a Solana wallet to your account.

Supported wallets

SolBid uses the Solana Wallet Adapter, which supports all major Solana wallets including:
  • Phantom
  • Solflare
  • Backpack
  • Ledger
  • Sollet
  • Slope
  • And many more
SolBid operates on the Solana Devnet for testing purposes. Make sure your wallet is configured for Devnet.

Connecting your wallet

After logging into your SolBid account, follow these steps to connect your wallet:
1

Locate the wallet button

In the top navigation bar, you’ll see the Select Wallet button (visible only when logged in).
2

Click to open wallet selector

Click the wallet button to open the wallet selection modal. You’ll see a list of all compatible Solana wallets.
3

Choose your wallet

Select your preferred wallet from the list. If you don’t have a wallet extension installed, you’ll be prompted to install one.
4

Approve the connection

Your wallet extension will open and ask you to approve the connection to SolBid. Click Approve or Connect in your wallet.
5

Connection confirmed

Once connected, the wallet button will display your wallet address (truncated). You’re now ready to participate in games!

Auto-connect feature

SolBid is configured with auto-connect enabled. This means:
  • When you return to SolBid, your previously connected wallet will automatically reconnect
  • You don’t need to manually connect your wallet each time you visit the site
  • If you manually disconnect, auto-connect will be disabled until you connect again
Keep your wallet extension unlocked for the smoothest experience. If your wallet is locked, you’ll be prompted to unlock it before connecting.

Wallet connection requirements

Before you can perform any blockchain transactions, you must:
  1. Be logged in to your SolBid account
  2. Have a wallet connected via the wallet button
  3. Have sufficient SOL in your wallet for transaction fees
  4. Have USDC tokens for placing bids (on Devnet)
You cannot create or join games without a connected wallet. The system will display an error message prompting you to connect your wallet first.

Managing your wallet connection

Viewing your wallet address

Once connected, your wallet address appears in the navigation bar. Click the wallet button to:
  • View your full wallet address
  • See your SOL balance
  • Copy your address to clipboard
  • Disconnect your wallet

Disconnecting your wallet

To disconnect your wallet:
  1. Click the connected wallet button in the navigation
  2. Select Disconnect from the wallet modal
  3. Your wallet will be disconnected but you’ll remain logged into your SolBid account

Switching wallets

To switch to a different wallet:
  1. Disconnect your current wallet
  2. Click the wallet button again
  3. Select a different wallet from the list
  4. Approve the connection in the new wallet

Network configuration

SolBid is currently configured to use the Solana Devnet:
  • Network: Solana Devnet
  • RPC Endpoint: https://api.devnet.solana.com
  • Currency: SOL (for transaction fees) and USDC (for bidding)
Make sure your wallet is set to Devnet. Most wallets default to Mainnet, so you’ll need to switch networks in your wallet settings.

Getting Devnet SOL and USDC

To participate in games on Devnet, you’ll need test tokens:

SOL for transaction fees

  1. Visit the Solana Faucet
  2. Enter your wallet address
  3. Request Devnet SOL (you’ll receive 1-2 SOL)

USDC for bidding

You’ll need Devnet USDC tokens to place bids. Contact the SolBid team or use Solana’s token faucets to receive test USDC.

Troubleshooting wallet issues

Wallet not appearing in the list

If your wallet doesn’t appear in the wallet selector:
  • Ensure your wallet extension is installed and enabled
  • Refresh the page
  • Try a different browser if the issue persists

Connection fails

If your wallet connection fails:
  • Check that your wallet is unlocked
  • Ensure you’re approving the connection in your wallet
  • Verify you’re on the correct network (Devnet)
  • Try disconnecting and reconnecting

Transactions not working

If you can’t create games or place bids:
  • Confirm your wallet is still connected (check the navigation bar)
  • Verify you have sufficient SOL for transaction fees
  • Ensure you have USDC tokens for bidding
  • Check that you’re on Devnet, not Mainnet
