Importing media
There are two ways to bring files into the Media Panel. Drag and drop: Drag files directly from your OS file explorer onto the Media Panel. Multiple files are supported at once. File browser button: Click the Import button in the panel header to open a native file picker (Chrome/Edge) or a standard file input fallback. Once you import a file, a placeholder entry appears immediately. Metadata extraction, thumbnail generation, and file hashing run in the background. Up to 3 files are processed in parallel for batch imports.Supported formats
Decoding depends on what your browser supports.| Type | Formats |
|---|---|
| Containers | MP4, MOV, WebM, MKV, AVI, M4V |
| Video codecs | H.264, H.265¹, VP8, VP9, AV1 |
| Audio codecs | AAC, MP3, Opus, Vorbis, FLAC, WAV/PCM |
| Images | PNG, JPG, WebP, GIF, BMP, AVIF, SVG |
| 3D models | OBJ, glTF, GLB, FBX |
MOV files work because they share the same ISO BMFF container as MP4. MKV works when the file contains browser-decodable codecs such as H.264 or VP9.
Folder organization
Use folders to keep your panel tidy as your project grows.- Create a folder via + Add → Folder or right-click an empty area and choose New Folder.
- Drag single or multiple items into any folder.
- Folders support nesting — you can place folders inside folders.
- In List view, expand and collapse folders inline. In Grid view, double-click a folder to navigate into it; a breadcrumb bar shows the current path.
- Assign a label color to any folder or file using the dot indicator in List view.
Compositions
Compositions are independent timelines you create inside a project. They can be nested inside other compositions.Creating a composition

Managing compositions
- Right-click a composition and choose Composition Settings to change its width, height, frame rate, or duration.
- Drag a composition onto the timeline to create a nested composition clip.
- Double-click a nested composition clip on the timeline to navigate into it.
- The playhead position syncs between parent and nested compositions.
