Browsing Products

The Sabbels Handmade product catalog makes it easy to discover unique, handcrafted items. Use powerful search and filtering tools to find exactly what you’re looking for.

Accessing the Catalog

Navigate to the product catalog from:
  • The main navigation menu (“Products” or “Shop” link)
  • The home page “Browse Collection” button
  • Direct URL: /items

Product Display

Products are displayed in a responsive grid layout showing:
  • Product image
  • Product name
  • Price (starting from base price)
  • Category path (e.g., “Accessories › Bags”)
  • Average rating and review count (if available)
The product grid automatically adjusts based on your screen size for optimal viewing on mobile, tablet, and desktop devices.

Search Functionality

The search bar is located in the top-right of the product list page.

Enter search term

Type your search query into the search box. The search is case-insensitive.

View results

Results update automatically as you type. The search looks through:
  • Product names
  • Product descriptions

Clear search

Delete your search term or use the “Clear All” button to reset filters.

Search Tips

  • Search is real-time - results update as you type
  • Partial matches are supported (e.g., “bag” will find “Tote Bag”)
  • Search queries are preserved in the URL, so you can bookmark or share searches

Filtering Products

Category Filter

Filter products by category to narrow down your search:

Open filters panel

On mobile: Tap the “Filters” button at the top of the product listOn desktop: The filters sidebar is always visible on the left side

Select a category

Click on any category name to filter by that category. Categories are organized hierarchically:
  • Parent categories (e.g., “Accessories”)
  • Subcategories (e.g., “Accessories › Bags”)

View filtered results

Products are automatically filtered to show only items in the selected category and all its subcategories
When you select a parent category, products from all subcategories are included in the results.

Price Range Filter

Filter products by price to match your budget:
  1. In the filters panel, locate the “Price” section
  2. Enter a minimum price, maximum price, or both
  3. Products are filtered to show items within your specified range
  4. The filter considers both base prices and variant prices
Leave one field empty to set only a minimum (e.g., “€20 and up”) or maximum (e.g., “under €50”) price.

Clearing Filters

To reset all filters:
  • Click the “Reset” or “Clear All” button at the bottom of the filters panel
  • This clears category selection and price range filters
  • Search terms are also cleared

Sorting Products

Use the sort dropdown (top-right of the product list) to organize results:
Sort OptionDescription
NameAlphabetical order (A-Z)
Price: Low to HighCheapest items first
Price: High to LowMost expensive items first
NewestRecently added items first
Top RatedHighest rated items first (by average rating, then review count)
The default sort order is by name (alphabetical).

Viewing Product Details

Click on any product card to view full details including:
  • High-resolution images with gallery view
  • Complete product description
  • Available sizes and colors
  • Customization options (hook types)
  • Customer reviews and ratings
  • Related products

URL Parameters

Filters and search are reflected in the URL, allowing you to:
  • Bookmark specific searches or filters
  • Share product searches with others
  • Navigate back to previous searches using browser history
Example URL: /items?search=bag&category=accessories&minPrice=20&maxPrice=50&sort=price

No Results

If your search or filters return no results:
  • You’ll see a “No products found” message
  • Click the “Clear All” button to reset filters and start over
  • Try broader search terms or remove some filters
The product count (e.g., “24 products”) is always displayed at the top of the list to show how many items match your current filters.

Mobile Experience

On mobile devices:
  • Filters are hidden by default to maximize screen space
  • Tap the “Filters” button to open the filters panel
  • The panel slides in from the side with a backdrop overlay
  • Close the panel by tapping the X button or the backdrop
  • All filtering functionality is identical to the desktop experience
