/hunt, the bot rolls against the rarity weights below to determine which tier drops, then picks a random creature from that pool.
Drop Probabilities
Rarity weights are loaded directly fromvibe_creatures/data.json at startup and passed to random.choices() in roll_rarity(). The six tiers and their base drop chances are:
| Rarity | Drop Chance |
|---|---|
| π² Common | 45% |
| π© Uncommon | 28% |
| π· Rare | 15% |
| π£ Epic | 8% |

π² Common β 45% drop chance
The backbone of every collection. Common creatures drop nearly half the time and are ideal for building early streaks and accumulating Glow Shards. Their moods tend toward melancholy and neutral, which keeps Noxieβs personality engine in deadpan or sarcastic territory.
| Name | Mood | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Gloomfox | Melancholy | A perpetually damp fox that judges your life choices |
| Sparkitty | Neutral | Generates static electricity through sheer indifference |
| Mossling | Cozy | Smells like a forest floor and is fine with that |
| Blobette | Neutral | Gelatinous. Opinionless. Present. |
π© Uncommon β 28% drop chance
π© Uncommon β 28% drop chance
Uncommon creatures have a bit more edge to them. The Plaguerat brings sarcasm, the Neonmoth pulses with chaotic energy, and the hunt banner shifts to Noxieβs cozy face when one of these drops.
| Name | Mood | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Driftling | Neutral | Floats wherever. No strong feelings about it |
| Neonmoth | Chaotic | Attracted to screens, arguments, and open flames |
| Plaguerat | Sarcastic | Thriving, actually. Thanks for asking |
| Echogolem | Neutral | Repeats the last thing you said, but slower |
π· Rare β 15% drop chance
π· Rare β 15% drop chance
Rare creatures trigger the rare mood banner and carry noticeably stronger power values. Tidewyrm and Lunarfawn lean into water and moonlit melancholy; Emberstag burns chaotic; Hazebird drifts.
| Name | Mood | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Tidewyrm | Cozy | Serpentine, warm-current energy, deeply chill |
| Lunarfawn | Melancholy | Only appears under certain lighting. Emotionally unavailable |
| Emberstag | Chaotic | Antlers are literally on fire. This is fine |
| Hazebird | Neutral | You can see through it a little. It doesnβt mind |
π£ Epic β 8% drop chance
π£ Epic β 8% drop chance
Epic drops activate the excited face banner and push the personality engine into chaotic territory. Rewards multiply sharply here β players can expect 8Γ Glow Shards over the common baseline.
| Name | Mood | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Prismhawk | Chaotic | Refracts sunlight into colors that donβt exist yet |
| Nullbear | Deadpan | Large. Unimpressed. Technically not even there |
| Ashphoenix | Sarcastic | Rises from the ashes every time, audibly sighing |
| Bloomwitch | Cozy | Grows flowers from cracks in pavement, unbothered |
β Legendary β 3% drop chance
β Legendary β 3% drop chance
Legendary hunts trigger the love face banner, award the π Legendary Finder badge on first catch, and deliver a 20Γ Glow Shard multiplier. Only three creatures exist at this tier.
| Name | Mood | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Cosmoscat | Cozy | Purrs in frequencies that bend space-time slightly |
| Chronowolf | Chaotic | Runs at the wrong speed relative to everything else |
| Glitchsprite | Sarcastic | Flickers between frames and rolls its eyes doing it |
π Mythic β 1% drop chance
π Mythic β 1% drop chance
The rarest tier. Mythic hunts fire the evil face banner, award the π Mythic Witness badge on first catch, and deliver a 50Γ Glow Shard multiplier. Catching any of these three is a server-worthy event.
| Name | Mood | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Voidmatriarch | Chaotic | Absolute sovereign of the void. Will not explain further |
| Solarlion | Cozy | Warm enough to melt satellites. Means well |
| Nightweaver | Melancholy | Knits the dark between stars. Prefers silence |
Reward Multipliers by Rarity
When a creature drops,roll_rewards() in cogs/hunt.py draws a random base value from the economy.glow_shards_per_hunt and economy.vibe_coins_per_hunt config ranges, then multiplies by the tier factor below.
| Rarity | Glow Shards | Vibe Coins | GS Multiplier | VC Multiplier |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Common | 5β25 | 1β5 | 1Γ | 1Γ |
| Uncommon | 10β50 | 2β8 | 2Γ | 1.5Γ |
| Rare | 20β100 | 4β15 | 4Γ | 3Γ |
| Epic | 40β200 | 8β30 | 8Γ | 6Γ |
| Legendary | 100β500 | 20β75 | 20Γ | 15Γ |
| Mythic | 250β1,250 | 50β200 | 50Γ | 40Γ |
glow_shards_per_hunt: [5, 25], vibe_coins_per_hunt: [1, 5]). Adjusting those fields in config.json scales all tiers proportionally.
The full creature data β including art file paths, power values, vibe types, and extended descriptions β is stored in
vibe_creatures/data.json. That file is the single source of truth loaded at startup by utils/helpers.py β load_creatures(). The creature names listed here are drawn from the README. The mood values shown in each table are illustrative examples based on README flavor text and have not been individually verified against vibe_creatures/data.json; treat that file as the authoritative source for moods, power stats, and vibe tags.
