Himanshu Balani is a Computer Science graduate from India with a genuine love for building things — from Flutter apps and developer tools to SEO-driven technical content. He thrives at the intersection of software development and communication, equally comfortable writing Dart code and crafting blog posts that rank. Driven by curiosity, he’s always poking at how things work under the hood, whether that’s a framework, a physics concept, or the night sky.

Background

Himanshu holds a degree in Computer Science and is based in India. His journey into tech has been shaped by a persistent itch to understand things deeply — not just how to use them, but why they work the way they do. That curiosity led him to explore Flutter early on, dive into open source, and pick up technical writing as a way to share what he learns with others. Outside of screens and code, you’ll find him thinking about astronomy, physics, and the bigger questions that come with staring at the universe long enough. He believes that the same mindset that makes you a good engineer — breaking problems down, seeking first principles, iterating — makes you a better thinker in general.

What He Does

Flutter & Dart Development

Himanshu builds cross-platform apps using Flutter and Dart, with a focus on clean UI and practical tooling. His own portfolio website is a Flutter Web app — a living example of his work.

Technical Writing

He writes SEO-optimized content for developer tools and platforms. His most recent engagement was with ToolJet, where he produced over 10 in-depth blog posts covering the platform’s features and use cases.

Open Source

Himanshu contributes to and maintains open source projects on GitHub, sharing tools and experiments with the wider dev community.

Personal Blog

He maintains a personal blog at blog.himanshubalani.com — a space to document learnings, tutorials, and reflections. Also published on Hashnode.
His Hashnode blog at himanshubalani.hashnode.dev is a great starting point if you want to read his technical deep dives.

Speaking

Himanshu has taken the stage 4 times as a speaker at tech events, sharing knowledge with developer communities. He enjoys the energy of live audiences and the challenge of making complex ideas accessible to a room full of curious people.

Interests

What makes Himanshu tick goes well beyond any single job title. Here’s what he’s genuinely into:
  • 🔭 Astronomy — Fascinated by the cosmos, the scale of the universe, and all the physics that govern it.
  • ⚛️ Physics — A love for first principles and the elegant math that describes reality.
  • 🖥️ Computers — Not just as tools, but as systems to understand deeply — from compilers to rendering engines.
  • 🔧 Building Random Tools — If something slows him down or sparks an idea, he’ll probably build something to fix it or explore it.
  • 🤝 Tech Community — He genuinely enjoys connecting with people, exchanging ideas, and being part of a community that builds together.
