This guide will help you quickly verify your installation and start using the Cricfy plugin to stream live cricket and sports content.
1

Verify installation

After installing the plugin, verify that it’s properly installed:
  1. From Kodi’s home screen, go to Add-ons
  2. Navigate to Video add-ons
  3. Look for Cricfy in the list
If you don’t see Cricfy in the list, refer to the installation guide to complete the setup.
2

Launch the add-on

Open the Cricfy add-on by selecting it from the Video add-ons list. You’ll be presented with the main provider list interface.
3

Browse providers

The plugin will fetch a list of available streaming providers from Cricfy:
  • Each provider shows a title and thumbnail image
  • Providers are automatically cached to improve performance
  • Select any provider to view its available channels
If providers don’t load immediately, check your internet connection and wait a moment for the plugin to fetch the list.
4

Select and play a channel

Once you’ve selected a provider, you’ll see a list of available channels:
  1. Browse the channel list
  2. Select a channel you want to watch
  3. The plugin will resolve the stream URL and start playback
  4. Enjoy your live sports content!
Some streams may use DRM protection (Clearkey). The plugin automatically handles this with Inputstream Adaptive.

Understanding the interface

The Cricfy plugin uses a simple three-level navigation structure:
  1. Provider list: Main screen showing all available providers
  2. Channel list: Channels available from the selected provider
  3. Playback: Video player for the selected channel

Best practices

Check multiple providers

If a channel isn’t working from one provider, try another provider for better availability.

Clear cache if needed

Providers are cached indefinitely, but channels expire after 1 hour. Restart Kodi to clear the cache if you encounter issues.

Use a stable connection

For best streaming quality, ensure you have a stable broadband internet connection.

Enable hardware acceleration

For smooth playback, enable hardware acceleration in Kodi’s video settings.

Common playback controls

When a stream is playing, you can use these standard Kodi controls:
  • Play/Pause: Spacebar or select button
  • Stop: Stop button or back navigation
  • Volume: Volume up/down buttons
  • Exit: Back button to return to channel list

Troubleshooting quick tips

If you encounter issues while getting started:
  • No providers showing: Check your internet connection and restart the add-on
  • Stream won’t play: Try a different channel or provider
  • Buffering issues: Lower the stream quality or check your internet speed
  • Plugin crashes: Enable debug logging and check Kodi’s log file
