Chuchu is distributed as an APK through GitHub releases. The app is not on the Google Play Store — the developer is unable to open a Play Store account due to payment limitations in their country. All releases are signed and published at the official GitHub repository.
Only download Chuchu from the official GitHub releases page. Do not install APKs from any other source.

Install steps

1

Download the latest APK

Go to https://github.com/jossephus/chuchu/releases and download the APK file from the latest release. The file is named chuchu-<version>.apk.
2

Enable installs from unknown sources

Because Chuchu is not distributed through the Play Store, Android blocks the install by default. To allow it:
  • Android 8.0 and later: Open Settings, go to Apps, find your browser or file manager, then enable Install unknown apps for that app.
  • Android 7.x: Open Settings > Security and enable Unknown sources.
Enabling unknown sources for a specific app (Android 8+) limits the permission to that app only. This is safe for APKs you trust — you can disable it again after installing Chuchu.
3

Open the downloaded APK

Open the APK from your notification shade or file manager. Android will show you a permission prompt — tap Install to proceed.
4

Launch Chuchu

Once installation finishes, tap Open or find Chuchu in your app drawer. On first launch you will see an empty server list, ready for you to add your first host.
