Accessing the wardrobe

How to access

  • Keybind - Default keybind (check Controls settings)
  • Main menu - Click Essential button → Wardrobe
  • Pause menu - Access during gameplay
If cosmetics are disabled in settings, a toast notification will appear when using the keybind, but you can still access the wardrobe through the menu.

Cosmetic customization

Customize cosmetic colors to match your style:
  • Color picker - Full RGB color selection

  • Per-cosmetic - Different colors for each item
  • Live preview - See changes in real-time
Changing colors does not reset cosmetic animations - your items will continue animating smoothly.
Fine-tune cosmetic placement:
  • Position offset - Move cosmetics up/down/left/right
  • Rotation - Adjust angle and orientation
  • Scale - Resize cosmetic items
  • Reset - Return to default positioning
Interact with cosmetics easily:
  • Click to select - Select cosmetics on character preview
  • Quick equip - Click in grid to equip/unequip
  • Multi-slot - Wear multiple compatible cosmetics
  • Hover outline - Visual selection indicator
Cosmetic hover outlines work correctly on all Minecraft versions including macOS on 1.8.9-1.16.5.
Cosmetics are organized by rarity:
  • Common - Basic cosmetics
  • Uncommon - Enhanced items
  • Rare - Special cosmetics
  • Epic - Premium items
  • Legendary - Exclusive cosmetics
Rarity affects appearance, animations, and availability.

Access emotes during gameplay:
  • Open wheel - Hold emote wheel keybind
  • Select emote - Move mouse to highlight and release
  • Play emote - Character performs selected emote
  • Cancel - Move to center and release

The skin library provides comprehensive skin management:Add skins via:
  • Upload file (PNG)

Capes are rendered correctly in Minecraft 1.16-1.21.1 with proper brightness. They also display correctly in the pause menu while using emotes on 1.19.3+.

Outfit management

Manage all your outfits in one place:
  • 128 outfit limit - Store up to 128 different outfits
  • Favorites - Mark favorite outfits for quick access
  • Rename - Change outfit names anytime
  • Duplicate - Copy outfits to create variations
  • Delete - Remove unwanted outfits
  • Preview - See outfit on character before equipping
Advanced outfit capabilities:
  • Skin locking - Lock specific skins to outfits
  • Unowned items - See unowned items in outfit beside preview
  • Quick switch - Switch between outfits in preview window
  • Context menu - Right-click for quick actions
  • Sorting - Organize by name, date, or favorites
When viewing an outfit:
  • See list of unowned cosmetics in the outfit
  • Purchase prompt for missing items
  • Preview still shows complete outfit

Support your favorite creators by using Creator Codes when making purchases in the Essential store.
How it works:
  • Enter creator code at checkout

Settings & preferences

Configure cosmetic behavior:
  • Enable/disable cosmetics - Toggle all cosmetics on/off
  • Armor interaction - How cosmetics interact with armor
  • Show my armor - Also hides Elytra when disabled
  • Render distance - Cosmetic visibility range
  • Toggle hotkey - Quick toggle cosmetics in-game
Disabling Essential now properly removes Essential capes. Body parts with cosmetics no longer disappear when Essential is disabled.
Optimize wardrobe performance:
  • Loading speed - Improved for visible items
  • Minimum width - Adjustable preview width for more content
  • Scaling behavior - Better scaling on different resolutions
  • Render optimization - Efficient cosmetic rendering
Performance issues when leaving the wardrobe open for extended periods have been resolved.

Essential no longer sends client settings packets on all cosmetic updates, avoiding false triggers with some Anti-Cheat systems.
