Upload Progress and Feedback

Galey Cloud provides clear feedback during the upload process:

Upload Status

  • Upload Button: Changes from “Subir” to “Subiendo…” while uploading
  • Button State: The upload button is disabled during upload to prevent duplicate uploads
  • Drag Indicator: The photo grid background highlights when dragging files over it

Success Notifications

When your upload completes successfully, you’ll see a toast notification:
  • Single photo: “1 foto subida correctamente”
  • Multiple photos: “X fotos subidas correctamente”
The newly uploaded photos will automatically appear in your gallery.

Error Handling

If an upload fails, you’ll receive an error notification with details about what went wrong. Common error messages include:
  • “No autorizado” - You need to log in again
  • “No se proporciono archivo” - No file was selected
  • “Error al subir” - General upload error

Uploading to Specific Albums

You can upload photos directly into an album:
1

Select an Album

Click on the album in the left sidebar where you want to upload photos.
2

Upload Photos

Use either the Upload button or drag-and-drop method while the album is selected.
3

Verify Location

The photos will automatically be placed in the selected album.
If you want to upload photos without assigning them to an album, select “Todas las fotos” (All Photos) in the sidebar before uploading.

Batch Uploads

Galey Cloud supports uploading multiple photos at once:

Using File Selection

  1. Click the Upload button
  2. Hold Ctrl (Windows/Linux) or Cmd (Mac) to select multiple files
  3. Or use Shift to select a range of files
  4. Click “Open” to start the batch upload

Using Drag and Drop

  2. Drag all selected files to Galey Cloud
  3. Drop them on the photo grid

Each photo is uploaded independently. If one photo fails, the others will continue uploading successfully.

File Information Captured

When you upload a photo, Galey Cloud automatically captures and stores:
  • File name - Original filename from your device
  • File size - Size in bytes
  • File type - MIME type (e.g., image/jpeg)
  • Dimensions - Width and height in pixels (calculated after upload)
  • Upload date - Timestamp of when the photo was uploaded
  • Album - Which album the photo belongs to (if any)

Troubleshooting Common Upload Issues

The upload button disables while an upload is in progress. Wait for the current upload to complete before starting a new one.If it remains disabled after the upload completes, try refreshing the page.
This means your session has expired. You need to log in again:
  1. Click “Cerrar sesion” (Log out) in the sidebar
  2. Log in with your credentials
  3. Try uploading again
Try these steps:
  1. Refresh the page to reload the gallery
  2. Check if you have filters or album selections applied
  3. Click “Todas las fotos” to see all uploaded photos
Make sure you’re dragging image files, not folders or other file types. The drag indicator (background highlight) should appear when dragging valid image files.
Upload speed depends on:
  • Your internet connection speed
  • File sizes (larger photos take longer)
  • Number of files being uploaded simultaneously
For faster uploads, consider:
  • Uploading smaller batches
  • Compressing large images before upload
  • Using a faster internet connection

Best Practices

Name Files Descriptively

Use meaningful filenames before uploading to make photos easier to search and identify later.

Organize as You Upload

Create albums first, then upload directly to them. This saves time reorganizing later.

Upload in Batches

Upload related photos together in batches. This makes it easier to organize them into albums.

Check File Sizes

Larger files take longer to upload and use more storage. Consider optimizing very large images.
After uploading, photos can be moved between albums, renamed, or deleted at any time. Don’t worry about getting everything perfect during upload.
