Bihar Police Notebook is a free, browser-based writing tool designed for Bihar Police officers who need to draft Hindi letters and FIR case diaries quickly and accurately. There is no application server and nothing to install — open bpdiary.arverma.dev in Chrome or any modern browser and you are ready to write. Key Features
Letter & Diary Templates
Choose between a Letter template for official correspondence and a Diary template for FIR case diaries. Both render as A4-sized pages inside the browser so what you see is exactly what will print.
Hinglish Typing (Transliteration)
On desktop and tablet, enable the Hindi Typing toggle (A:अ) in the header to type in everyday Romanized Hindi (Hinglish). The app converts words to Devanagari automatically and shows inline suggestions as you type.
Voice Dictation
A draggable speak-to-type microphone button (FAB) is available on desktop. Click it to dictate text directly into the active field. On phones, use the built-in microphone on your OS keyboard instead.
Punctuation Panel
A dedicated panel provides quick access to the 9 essential Hindi punctuation symbols — including the danda (।), double danda (॥), and other characters that are otherwise hard to type — without leaving the editor.
Print & Save as PDF
Click the PDF button in the header (or press Ctrl/Cmd+P) to open a print-ready version of your document. Use your browser’s “Save as PDF” option to create a file you can share or archive.
Autosave with IndexedDB
Every change is saved automatically to your browser’s IndexedDB with a 600 ms debounce. Documents are organised in a History sidebar, grouped by date. No internet connection is needed to save or retrieve your work.
Document History
The History sidebar lists all your saved letters and diaries, grouped by day. Open any past document with a single click. On desktop the sidebar appears as a panel; on phones it slides in as an overlay drawer.
Optional Google Drive Backup
Connect your Google account from the History panel to back up documents to a folder called Bihar Police Notebook Backup in your Google Drive. The backup is always opt-in — nothing is sent to Google until you sign in and sync.

Bihar Police Notebook is built for Bihar Police officers who write letters and FIR case diaries as part of their daily work. It is equally useful on a desktop computer in an office and on a smartphone in the field. The interface is intentionally simple: no account registration, no subscription, and no data leaving your device without your explicit action.How to Open the App
Navigate to https://bpdiary.arverma.dev/ in Chrome or another modern browser (Firefox, Edge, or Safari also work). The app loads entirely from static files — there is no back-end server. An internet connection is only required on the very first load; after that the app can work offline for editing and saving.The address bpdiary.arverma.dev is simply the web address for Bihar Police Notebook. The name “bpdiary” stands for Bihar Police Diary.
Privacy: Your Documents Stay on Your Device
- All documents are stored in your browser’s IndexedDB — they never leave your device automatically.
- Google Drive backup is completely optional. Nothing is sent to Google until you personally sign in from the History panel and click Sync.
- When you do connect Drive, documents are backed up to a folder named Bihar Police Notebook Backup — do not delete inside your own Google Drive account.
