Statuses uses a one-time authentication flow to tie your online presence to your Geometry Dash account. This prevents other players from spoofing your status. Once authenticated, your token is saved locally and the process does not need to be repeated unless you are deauthorized. This page explains how to complete authentication from inside the game.
You must be logged in to a Geometry Dash account to authenticate. If you tap the status icon without being logged in, Statuses shows an error: “You need to log in to use this mod.” Log in through the GD account menu and then retry.

How to authenticate

1

Open your profile

From the main menu, tap your username or navigate to your profile page. You can also tap OPEN on the welcome popup that appears the first time you launch the game after installing Statuses.
2

Tap the status icon

On your profile page, tap the status icon that appears next to your username. This icon is added by Statuses. Tapping it begins the authentication sequence.
3

Wait for the loading overlay

A loading overlay appears and steps through the authentication flow automatically:
  1. Authenticating: Getting Code.. [1/3] — Statuses contacts the server to request an auth code for your account.
  2. Authenticating: Sending Message.. [2/3] — The code is sent as an in-game message on your behalf to the Statuses server account.
  3. Authenticating: Getting Token.. [3/3] — The server verifies the message was sent from your account and issues a token.
Do not close the game or navigate away while the overlay is visible.
4

Confirm the success alert

Once the token is issued, a “Success!” alert appears: “You’ve been successfully authorized.” Tap OK. Your profile page reopens automatically and your status is now live.

What “auth failed” means

If any step in the flow fails — for example, due to a network error or a server-side problem — an “Oops!” alert appears describing the error. The mod marks authentication as failed internally. To retry, open your profile again and tap the status icon. The full flow restarts from the beginning.

Deauthorization

The Statuses server can revoke your token at any time. When this happens, a popup appears while you are in-game:
“You’ve been deauthorized from Statuses! Would you like to open your profile to authenticate again?”
If you see the deauthorization popup, tap OPEN to go directly to your profile, then tap the status icon to complete authentication again. Tapping Later dismisses the popup, but your status will not appear to other players until you re-authenticate.

Token storage

Your auth token is saved locally on your device by Geode’s mod save system. You only need to authenticate once per installation. The token is reused automatically each time you launch the game and Statuses reconnects to the server.
