Uploading emojis
You must be a member of the discord.place Discord server to upload emojis. You can only have one emoji pending approval at a time.
Join the discord.place server
Membership in the official discord.place Discord server is required before uploading.
Go to the upload page
Navigate to discord.place/emojis/create.
Prepare your file
Emojis must meet these requirements:
- Format — PNG for static emojis, GIF for animated emojis
- File size — maximum 256 KB per file
- Name — alphanumeric characters and underscores only (Discord emoji naming rules)
- Animated category — if your emoji is a GIF, include the
Animatedcategory; do not include it for PNG files
Emoji packs
You can upload multiple emojis at once as a named pack. Packs group related emojis together and have their own listing page. To upload a pack, select more than one file on the upload page. The same file format and size limits apply to each individual emoji in the pack. If any emoji in the pack is animated (GIF), you must include theAnimated category on the pack.
A pack must contain at least the minimum number of emojis required by the platform. Uploading a single file always creates an individual emoji, never a pack.
Using emojis in your server
Alternatively, discord.place provides a one-click Upload to server button on each emoji page if you are logged in and have the Manage Emojis permission on a server you own or manage.
