Reviews are essential to the Kin Conecta community. They help tourists make informed decisions and help guides improve their services. This guide covers how to leave reviews as a tourist and how to manage and respond to reviews as a guide.

For Tourists: Leaving Reviews

When to Leave a Review

You can review a tour after it’s completed:
  • Review window opens immediately after tour end time
  • You have 30 days to submit a review
  • Cannot review tours you cancelled
  • Must have attended the tour to review

Go to Mis reseñas in the sidebar or find the completed tour in Mis viajes.

Find the tour you want to review and click the review button.

Complete Review Form

Fill out the rating and written review (detailed below).

Click submit. Your review is published immediately.

A complete review includes: Star Rating (Required)
  • 1 star - Poor experience
  • 2 stars - Below expectations
  • 3 stars - Acceptable/average
  • 4 stars - Good experience
  • 5 stars - Excellent experience

  • Minimum 50 characters
  • Maximum 1000 characters

Writing Effective Reviews

Be Specific Instead of: “Great tour!” Write: “Luis was incredibly knowledgeable about the historic center. He took us to hidden courtyards I never would have found and shared fascinating stories about the architecture. The small group size made it easy to ask questions.” Be Balanced Mention both positives and areas for improvement: “The food tastings were delicious and authentic. María’s passion for Oaxacan cuisine really showed. The only suggestion would be to provide a bit more time at each stop - we felt slightly rushed. Overall, highly recommend!” Be Constructive If something wasn’t ideal, explain clearly: Instead of: “Tour was disorganized.” Write: “The tour content was interesting, but we waited 15 minutes past start time for the guide to arrive. Clearer communication about delays would have been helpful.” Include Details Help others understand what to expect:
  • What you loved most
  • Who the tour is best suited for
  • Physical difficulty level
  • Unique aspects of the experience
  • Whether you’d recommend it
The most helpful reviews are detailed, honest, and balanced. Future tourists and guides both benefit from thoughtful feedback.

Amazing Street Food Experience

This was the highlight of our trip! Luis took us to six different 
vendors across Coyoacán and Roma neighborhoods. His knowledge of 
Mexican cuisine and relationships with local vendors made this so 
special. We tried everything from tamales to tlacoyos to fresh 
fruit with tajín. The group size (6 people) was perfect for getting 
attention and asking questions. 

Highly recommend for foodies and anyone wanting an authentic local 
experience. Wear comfortable shoes - we walked about 2 hours. Worth 
every peso!

Good Tour with Some Issues

The guide was friendly and knowledgeable about Teotihuacán's history. 
We learned a lot about the pyramids. However, the group was much larger 
than advertised (20 people vs. 10 max listed), which made it hard to 
hear and ask questions. The pace was also quite fast - not much time 
for photos. 

Still a worthwhile experience if you want to learn about the site, but 
temper expectations about group size and pacing.

What Not to Include

Avoid these in your reviews: Personal attacks - Focus on the experience, not the person ❌ Unrelated complaints - Keep feedback tour-specific ❌ Threats or demands - Handle disputes through support ❌ Profanity - Keep language appropriate ❌ Discriminatory comments - Never acceptable ❌ Promotional content - No ads or competitor mentions
Reviews violating community guidelines may be removed. Serious violations can result in account suspension.

Editing or Removing Reviews

After submitting a review:
  • You can edit within 48 hours of posting
  • Cannot delete reviews, but can contact support
  • Guide responses remain even if you edit

  • Total reviews - Number of reviews you’ve written
  • Average rating - Your average star rating given
  • 5 stars - Percentage of 5-star reviews
  • This month - Reviews written this month

All your submitted reviews with:
  • Tour name and date
  • Your star rating
  • Your written review
  • Guide’s response (if any)
  • Photos you uploaded

Access Tus reseñas from the guide sidebar to see: Statistics Dashboard:

Understanding Your Rating

Your overall rating is calculated from:
  • All reviews across all your tours
  • Weighted average of star ratings
  • Updated immediately when new reviews come in
  • Displayed prominently on your profile
Rating Breakdown:
  • 4.8+ stars - Excellent (top-tier guide)
  • 4.5-4.7 stars - Very good
  • 4.0-4.4 stars - Good
  • Below 4.0 - Needs improvement
Most successful guides maintain ratings above 4.5 stars. This indicates consistent quality experiences.

Responding to Reviews

Guides should respond to all reviews, especially detailed ones.

Recent Reviews:

  • Look for comments about your priorities

Guide Responses:
