The leaderboard is a daily top-10 ranking of scores for each date’s puzzle. Every day’s puzzle has its own leaderboard — scores from yesterday are separate from today’s. The leaderboard is only available in Daily mode. If you open it while playing in Infinite mode, you will see: “Leaderboards aren’t available for Infinite mode. Play Daily instead!”

Accessing the leaderboard

You can open the leaderboard in two ways:
  • After completing a daily board — you are automatically prompted to submit your score, and the leaderboard is displayed after submission.
  • At any time during Daily mode — tap the trophy icon in the dock to open the leaderboard modal.

Submitting your score

After all 9 cells are filled, the game prompts you to submit to the leaderboard.
1

Confirm submission

When the board is complete, select “Submit your score to the leaderboard?” to begin.
2

Enter your name

Type the name you want displayed on the leaderboard. Names can be up to 50 characters. If you have submitted before, your previous name is pre-filled.
3

Score is posted

Your score is sent to the server and the leaderboard refreshes to show the updated rankings.
Your name is saved locally (wordgrid:playerName) so it is pre-filled the next time you submit.
The leaderboard has no deduplication. Submitting multiple times for the same date will create multiple entries under your name.

Reading the leaderboard

The leaderboard displays the top 10 entries for the current date’s puzzle. Each row shows:
ColumnDescription
RankPosition from 1 to 10
NameThe display name submitted by the player
ScoreThe player’s score out of the maximum possible score for that board
The rank 1 entry receives a gold highlight to distinguish it from the rest.
Only the top 10 scores are shown. If more than 10 players submit, only the highest 10 appear.

Date-specific scores

Each date has an independent leaderboard. Viewing the leaderboard while playing a past daily board shows that day’s rankings, not today’s.
