Overview

Your availability status determines whether you receive trip requests from passengers. Understanding how to manage your status effectively helps you maximize earnings while maintaining work-life balance.

Status Types

Online
Offline
Busy

Accepting Trip RequestsWhen online:

You appear in nearby driver searches
You receive trip request notifications
Your location is tracked and updated
You can accept trips from passengers

Being online doesn’t guarantee trips, but you must be online to receive requests.

Going Online

Open driver app

Launch the Viax driver app

Verify requirements

System checks:

Profile is complete and approved
Active vehicle selected
Documents are valid (not expired)
Location permissions enabled
Internet connection active

Tap 'Go Online'

If button is disabled, check requirements above.

Confirm vehicle

If you have multiple vehicles, select which one you’re using

Start receiving requests

You’re now visible to passengers and will receive trip requestsYour location is shared in real-time

Going Offline

Complete active trips

Finish any ongoing trips first

You cannot go offline during an active trip.

Tap 'Go Offline'

Confirm

Confirm you want to stop receiving requests

Status updated

You’re now offline and won’t receive trip requestsLocation tracking stops

Location Requirements

To go online, location services must be enabled:

Android

Settings > Location > On
Grant Viax Precise Location permission
Enable Location in Background
Disable Battery Optimization for location accuracy

iOS

Settings > Privacy > Location Services > On
Find Viax app
Select Always or While Using
Enable Precise Location

Without location access, you cannot go online or accept trips.

Auto-Offline Features

The system may automatically set you offline if:

Extended Inactivity

No trip accepted in 2 hours while online
Helps conserve battery and data
You’ll receive notification before auto-offline
Can go back online anytime

Location Lost

GPS signal lost for extended period
App loses internet connection
Automatically goes offline to prevent issues
Returns online when connection restored

Document Expiry

SOAT or technical inspection expires
License expiration
Forced offline until documents renewed
Must update documents to go back online

Account Suspension

Account suspended by admin
Low rating or policy violations
Cannot go online until resolved
Contact support for details

Position yourself near pickup hotspots
Avoid being too far from populated areas
Move to different zones during slow periods
Learn patterns in your city

Acceptance Settings

While online, configure trip acceptance preferences:

Auto-Accept
Manual Accept

Automatically Accept Requests

This feature is not recommended for new drivers.

Pros:

Never miss a trip
Faster response time
Higher acceptance rate

Cons:

Cannot review trip details first
May accept unfavorable trips
Less control over selections

Battery Management

Being online uses battery for:

GPS tracking (high usage)
Internet connection
Screen on time
Notifications

Battery tips:

Use car charger while driving
Lower screen brightness
Close unnecessary apps
Disable auto-brightness
Use battery saver mode cautiously (may affect GPS)

Data Usage

Online status uses mobile data:

Location updates: ~5MB per hour
Map loading: ~10MB per hour
Trip navigation: ~15MB per trip
Push notifications: Minimal

Estimated: 30-50MB per hour online

Connect to WiFi when parked to conserve mobile data.

Cannot go online

Profile approved?
Documents valid?

Location enabled?
Internet connected?

Update expired documents

Automatically going offline

Inactivity timeout (2 hours)
Lost GPS signal
Lost internet connection
Battery optimization killing app

Not receiving trip requests
