What is Discord Rich Presence?

Discord Rich Presence lets other users see what you are doing directly on your Discord profile. When enabled in Metrolist, your Discord status shows the song you are currently listening to, including the track title, artist, album art, and a progress bar. The integration is built on Kizzy, an open-source Android library for Discord Rich Presence.
This integration requires your Discord account token. Metrolist uses it only to update your presence via Discord’s gateway. Review the in-app warning before connecting, as using user tokens with third-party apps falls outside Discord’s Terms of Service.

Prerequisites

Discord must be installed and you must be logged into your account. The Discord app does not need to be running in the foreground, but it must be installed on the same device as Metrolist. A presence set on your phone is not reflected on a separate desktop session.
Discord Rich Presence is pushed directly from the device. If you are logged into Discord on multiple devices, the presence shown on your profile will be the one from the last connected device.

Connecting your Discord account

There are two ways to log in, depending on your preference.
1

Open Settings

Tap the Settings icon in the navigation bar.
2

Go to Integrations → Discord

Navigate to Integrations and tap Discord.
3

Tap Login

Tap the Login button in the account card. A Discord login page opens inside an in-app browser.
4

Sign in to Discord

Enter your Discord email and password and complete any two-factor authentication steps. Once logged in, Metrolist automatically extracts your session token and closes the browser.

Advanced login (token)

If you already have your Discord token, tap Advanced login and paste it directly into the token field. Metrolist verifies the token against Discord’s API before saving it.

What appears in your Discord status

Once connected and enabled, your Discord profile shows:
  • Activity label — defaults to “Listening to Metrolist” (configurable)
  • Song title — the currently playing track
  • Artist — the track’s artist
  • Album art — the track thumbnail as the large image; the artist thumbnail as a small overlay
  • Progress bar — elapsed time and total duration
  • Buttons — up to two action buttons (defaults: “Listen on YouTube Music” and “Visit Metrolist”)
A live preview of how your Rich Presence will look is shown at the bottom of the Discord settings screen, updating in real time as music plays.

Enabling Rich Presence

After connecting your account, enable Rich Presence under Settings → Integrations → Discord → Options.

Advanced customization

Enable Advanced mode to access the full set of presence options.

Buttons

You can show up to two buttons on your presence card. Each button has a label and can be toggled on or off independently. Button labels support dynamic variables that are resolved at playback time. Refer to the hint shown inside the button text dialog for the available variable names.

Disconnecting your account

To remove your Discord account from Metrolist:
  1. Go to Settings → Integrations → Discord.
  2. Tap Sign out in the account card.
Your token and profile data (username, display name, avatar) are cleared immediately from the device.
