If YouTube Music is unavailable in your region, Metrolist will not work without a VPN or proxy connecting to a supported region.

Why regional restrictions apply

Metrolist streams content directly from YouTube Music. It does not host any music itself. Because YouTube Music has a limited geographic rollout, access depends entirely on whether Google has made the service available in your country.

How to detect the problem

If YouTube Music is not available in your region, Metrolist will show one of the following:
  • Search results return nothing, or an error message
  • The home feed fails to load
  • Playback fails immediately when you try to play a track
These symptoms can also indicate a network issue, so first confirm your internet connection is working, then check whether your region is supported.

Supported regions

YouTube Music is officially available in the following major regions (among others):
United States, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, Chile, Peru
United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Poland, Belgium, Austria, Switzerland, Portugal, Ireland, Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania, and most other EU member states
Australia, New Zealand, Japan, South Korea, India, Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Taiwan
South Africa, Israel, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Nigeria, Kenya
This list reflects known availability at the time of writing. Google updates the YouTube Music rollout periodically. Check the YouTube Music availability page for the current authoritative list.

Using a VPN or proxy

If YouTube Music is not available in your region, connect to a VPN server in a supported country before opening Metrolist.
1

Install a VPN app

Choose a VPN provider and install its Android app. Both free options (such as Proton VPN’s free tier) and paid services work.
2

Connect to a supported region

Select a server in a supported country — the United States or United Kingdom are reliable choices.
3

Open Metrolist

Launch Metrolist after the VPN connects. Search, browsing, and playback should work normally.
The VPN must remain active while you are streaming. If you disconnect from the VPN during playback, the stream will fail. Cached or downloaded tracks continue to play offline without a VPN connection.

Offline downloads as an alternative

If you have intermittent or restricted access, consider downloading tracks for offline listening while connected through a VPN. Downloaded content plays back without any network connection.
