Task Types Explained

Minimal Tray Tasker supports two types of tasks:

Daily Tasks

  • Purpose: Habits and routines you want to complete every day
  • Behavior: Automatically reset at midnight
  • Examples: “Drink 8 glasses of water”, “Take breaks (5x)”, “Exercise”
  • Location: Active tasks appear in To Do, completed ones move to Finished Daily Tasks
Daily tasks reset at midnight based on your system time. If you complete a daily task, it will reappear the next day with progress reset to 0.

One-Time Tasks

  • Purpose: Tasks that need to be done once and stay completed
  • Behavior: Stay completed until manually deleted
  • Examples: “Submit report”, “Call dentist”, “Fix bug #123”
  • Location: Active tasks appear in To Do, completed ones move to Finished Tasks
Use the navigation buttons to switch between different task views:
Shows all active tasks that need completion. This is your main working view where you’ll track progress throughout the day.

Next Steps

You’re all set! Here are some ideas to get the most out of Minimal Tray Tasker:
  • Create daily tasks for health habits (hydration, breaks, exercise)
  • Track work tasks like “Review PRs” or “Reply to emails”
  • Use one-time tasks for errands and to-dos
  • Experiment with the Ram Saver setting if you’re concerned about performance
Your tasks are stored locally in an SQLite database on your computer. They’re private and never sent to any server.
