This guide walks you through the end-to-end user journey on Verano Regional, from creating an account to receiving your participation certificate. Follow the steps that match your role.
1

Create and verify your account

Open http://localhost/VeranoRegional/ and click Register. Enter your institutional email address and submit the pre-registration form. The platform sends a one-time password (OTP) to that email. Enter the OTP on the verification screen to confirm your address.
The OTP expires after a short window. If you do not receive the email, check your spam folder or request a new code.
2

Complete your profile

After verification, select your role — Student or Researcher — and fill in the required profile fields.
  • Students provide their institution, campus, degree program, GPA, and career progress percentage, then upload the required documents.
  • Researchers provide their institution, campus, and academic credentials.
A campus or institutional coordinator must validate your profile before you can access role-specific features.
Your account is visible to coordinators immediately after registration, but access to projects and applications is locked until validation is complete.
3

Researchers: propose a project

Once your profile is validated and the proposal window is open, go to My projects and click Add project. Fill in the project title, description, objectives, and the number of student places available.Submit the form. Your project enters a pending state until a coordinator validates it.
Students cannot see your project until a coordinator approves it. You will be notified when the status changes.
4

Students: browse and apply

When the application window opens, go to Projects to browse all validated projects. Click any project to read its full description. To apply, click Apply to this project. You can apply to up to five projects. After submitting your applications, go to My applications to drag and reorder them by priority — the algorithm uses your ranking when assigning placements.
You can apply to a maximum of five projects per program period. Choose carefully and rank them in the order you actually prefer.
5

Wait for allocation results

After the application window closes, the administrator runs the allocation algorithm. The algorithm assigns each student to one project based on GPA, career progress percentage, application priority ranking, and project capacity. You will see your assignment in My applications or on your Dashboard once results are published.
Allocation results are final. If you are not assigned to a project, contact your campus coordinator.
6

Upload your report and receive your certificate

Once the program period ends, go to My project and click Upload report to submit your final progress report. Your assigned researcher will review it and either approve it or request changes. After your report is approved, return to Dashboard and click Download certificate to get your participation certificate.
Upload your report as early as possible to give your researcher time to review it before the deadline.
