Overview

The tow and taxi features allow you to provide civilian services within the CAD system. Tow operators respond to vehicle recovery requests, while taxi drivers provide transportation services for citizens.

Tow Services

Accessing Tow Interface

Navigate to Tow Page

Go to Tow from the main navigation menu.

View Active Calls

See all active tow requests from citizens and law enforcement.

Viewing Tow Calls

The tow interface displays all active tow requests with:
  • Caller name - Who requested the tow
  • Location - Where the vehicle needs to be towed from
  • Description - Details about the situation
  • Created time - When the request was made
  • Status - Current call status

Creating a Tow Call

You can create tow calls on behalf of customers:

Click Create Tow Call

Click the Create Tow Call button.

Enter Call Information

Fill in:
  • Caller name - Customer or requesting party
  • Location - Pickup location
  • Description - Vehicle details and reason for tow
  • Postal code - If configured

Create Call

Click Create to add the call to the active list.

Responding to Tow Calls

Review Call Details

Click on a tow call to see full information.

Assign Yourself

Click Assign to take the call.

Contact Customer

Use the caller information to coordinate pickup.

Update Call

Add notes about:
  • Estimated arrival time
  • Vehicle condition
  • Destination
  • Any issues encountered

Complete Call

Once the tow is complete, click End Call or mark it as completed.

Tow Call Management

When assigned to a call, you can:
  • Update description - Add notes and status updates
  • Change status - Update call progress
  • End call - Complete the service
  • Unassign - Remove yourself if unable to complete

Working with Law Enforcement

LEO may request tows for:
  • Impounded vehicles - Vehicles being taken to impound lot
  • Accident scenes - Disabled vehicles from crashes
  • Abandoned vehicles - Vehicles blocking roadways

Receive LEO Request

LEO can create tow calls through the dispatch system.

Coordinate with Officer

Communicate about:
  • Vehicle location
  • Destination (impound lot, repair shop, etc.)
  • Any special handling needed

Complete Tow

Transport the vehicle as instructed.

Confirm with LEO

Notify the officer when complete.

Track your tow service history:
  • View all completed calls
  • Review call details and notes
  • Track earnings (if configured)
  • Monitor response times

Taxi Services

Accessing Taxi Interface

Go to Taxi from the main navigation menu.

See all active taxi requests from citizens.

The taxi interface shows all active requests with:
  • Passenger name - Who requested the ride
  • Pickup location - Where to pick up the passenger
  • Destination - Where they want to go (if provided)
  • Description - Additional details or special requests
  • Created time - When the request was made

Creating a Taxi Call

Create calls for customers who contact you directly:

Click Create Taxi Call

Click the Create Taxi Call button.

Enter Ride Information

Fill in:
  • Passenger name
  • Pickup location
  • Destination (optional)
  • Description - Any special requests or notes

Create Call

Click Create to add the ride request.

Accepting Taxi Calls

Review Request

Click on a taxi call to see details.

Accept Ride

Click Assign to accept the fare.

Navigate to Pickup

Go to the pickup location specified.

Update Status

Add notes when:
  • You’re en route to pickup
  • Passenger is picked up
  • You’re en route to destination

Complete Ride

Mark the call complete when you reach the destination.

Taxi Call Management

For active rides, you can:
  • Update description - Add pickup confirmation, destination changes, etc.
  • Modify destination - If the passenger changes their plans
  • End call - Complete the ride
  • Unassign - Cancel if unable to complete

Best Practices for Taxi Service

Always verify the pickup location with the passenger before heading there.
Keep the call updated so passengers know your ETA and status.
Provide friendly, professional service to encourage repeat business.
Familiarize yourself with common locations and efficient routes.

Taxi Logs

Track your taxi service history:
  • Review completed rides
  • View earnings (if configured)
  • Monitor ratings (if configured)
  • Track service areas

Call Notifications

Both tow and taxi operators receive notifications for:
  • New calls - When citizens create requests
  • Call updates - When details change
  • Call cancellations - When requests are cancelled
Enable audio notifications in your browser to hear alerts for new calls.

Operating Multiple Services

You can operate both tow and taxi services:
  1. Access each interface from the respective navigation pages
  2. Monitor both types of calls
  3. Accept calls based on availability and priority
  4. Switch between services as needed

Citizen Integration

How Citizens Request Services

Citizens can create tow and taxi calls from their citizen page:
  • Click Create Tow Call or Create Taxi Call
  • Enter their information and location
  • Wait for an operator to respond
You’ll see these requests appear in your active calls list immediately.

Communication

Coordinate with customers through:
  • Call description updates
  • In-game communication (voice/text)
  • Phone numbers (if provided in call details)

Dispatch Coordination

If dispatch is active, they can:
  • Create tow/taxi calls on behalf of citizens
  • Monitor your active calls
  • Assign specific calls to you
  • Help coordinate multiple operators
Maintain good communication with dispatch for efficient service coordination.

Pricing and Payment

Depending on CAD configuration:
  • Prices may be tracked in the system
  • You may need to log earnings manually
  • Payment is typically handled through roleplay
Check with your CAD administrator for specific payment procedures.

Service Areas

Consider establishing:
  • Coverage areas - Regions you primarily serve
  • Service hours - When you’re available
  • Special services - Flatbed towing, long-distance taxi rides, etc.
Communicate your service areas and availability to build a reliable reputation.

Record Keeping

Tow Records

Maintain records of:
  • Vehicle conditions at pickup
  • Mileage
  • Destination confirmations
  • Customer signatures (in roleplay)
  • Photos of damaged vehicles

Taxi Records

Track:
  • Pickup and dropoff times
  • Mileage
  • Fares
  • Customer information
  • Route taken

Safety Considerations

For tows at accident scenes or with LEO presence, follow officer instructions for safety.
Ensure vehicles are properly secured during towing to prevent damage or accidents.
For taxi services, prioritize passenger safety and comfort.
If you encounter emergencies, create a 911 call immediately and wait for emergency services.

Scenario: Roadside Assistance

  1. Receive call for disabled vehicle
  2. Confirm location and issue

Scenario: Airport Pickup

  1. Accept taxi call for airport pickup
  2. Confirm terminal and flight details

  1. Receive tow call from LEO
  2. Coordinate with officer on scene
  3. Document vehicle condition
  4. Secure vehicle properly

Troubleshooting

Refresh the page or check if you have the proper permissions to view tow/taxi calls.
Ensure the call isn’t already assigned to another operator, or check if you have the required permissions.
Verify you’re still assigned to the call and have proper permissions to edit it.
Contact your CAD administrator if you encounter persistent issues with the tow or taxi features.
