Profiles in TecniLauncher are isolated Minecraft instances, each with its own version, mod loader, mods folder, RAM allocation, and playtime tracking. You can create as many profiles as you need and switch between them from the main screen.
Use separate profiles for different modpacks or game versions to avoid conflicts between mods and configurations.

Creating a profile

1

Open the new profile dialog

Click New Profile on the main screen.
2

Enter a profile name

Type a display name for the profile. This name is used for the instance folder and shown in the launcher.
3

Select a Minecraft version

Choose from the list of available release versions. To see snapshot builds, enable Show snapshots in Settings.
4

Choose a loader type

Select one of the four loader types: Vanilla, Forge, Fabric, or NeoForge. See Mod loaders for guidance on which to choose.
5

Set RAM allocation

Use the slider to set the amount of RAM (in GB) allocated to this instance.
6

Create the profile

Click Create. TecniLauncher saves the profile and, if needed, installs the selected loader on first launch.
You can choose from 10 preset icons (icon1 through icon10) to visually distinguish your profiles. The icon can be changed later from the edit panel.

Profile storage

Each profile gets its own isolated folder:
%APPDATA%\.TecniLauncher\Instances\{ProfileName}\
The mods, configuration files, and saves for each profile are stored inside that folder. Shared game files — such as assets and libraries — are stored once in a common location to save disk space:
%APPDATA%\.TecniLauncher\Global\
Profile metadata (name, version, loader, RAM) is saved to:
%APPDATA%\.TecniLauncher\Data\perfiles.json

Editing and deleting profiles

Click the edit icon next to any profile on the main screen to open the edit panel. From there you can change the profile’s name, Minecraft version, loader type, RAM allocation, and icon. To delete a profile, click the delete icon and confirm the prompt. This removes the profile entry from TecniLauncher but leaves the instance folder on disk, so your world saves and screenshots are preserved.

Playtime tracking

TecniLauncher automatically records how long you play on each profile. The total playtime is displayed on the profile card in a human-readable format, for example 2h 30m or 45m. Playtime starts counting when a game session launches and stops when you close Minecraft.
