The Mods tab is the main interface for viewing and managing all mods in your staging directory. Every mod BD2 Mod Manager has discovered appears here as a row in the mod list.

Mod list columns

Each row in the mod list displays the following information:
ColumnDescription
StatusToggle switch to enable or disable the mod.
NameThe mod’s display name. If no display name is set, the folder name is used.
AuthorOptional author field. Editable via right-click context menu.
TypeMod type icon (Standing, Cutscene, Scene, NPC, Dating, Minigame).
CharacterCharacter icon (head) derived from the mod’s ID, when available.
ConflictWarning indicator shown when the mod conflicts with one or more other enabled mods.
ErrorsBadge listing any validation errors detected for the mod.

Mod types

BD2 Mod Manager recognizes the following mod types, each shown with a distinct icon in the Type column:

Standing

Replaces a character’s idle standing spine animation.

Cutscene

Replaces a character’s cutscene spine animation.

Scene

Replaces a scene or background asset.

NPC

Replaces an NPC character model or animation.

Dating

Replaces a character’s dating simulation spine animation.

Minigame

Replaces a minigame asset. May or may not have a character ID.

Sorting and filtering

You can sort the mod list by clicking any column header. Clicking the same header again reverses the sort order. Use the search bar at the top of the tab to filter mods by name. The list updates in real time as you type.
Filter by a character name to quickly find all mods that affect that character.

Context menu

Right-clicking anywhere in the mod list opens a context menu with the following selection options:
  • Select all — selects every mod in the list.
  • Select enabled — selects only mods that are currently enabled.
  • Select disabled — selects only mods that are currently disabled.
With one or more mods selected, you can perform bulk actions such as enabling, disabling, or deleting them.

Per-mod actions

Right-clicking a specific mod row exposes additional actions:
  • Preview — opens the mod in BD2ModPreview or your system image viewer.
  • Rename — changes the mod’s display name shown in the list.
  • Set author — sets or clears the author field for the mod.
  • Delete — permanently removes the mod from the staging directory.

Mod errors

If a mod has validation problems, an error badge appears on its row. Possible errors are:

MissingTexturesExpected texture files were not found.
MissingAtlasFileThe spine atlas file is missing.
