Realms are personal voxel build spaces that belong to you. Unlike game turns, realms are not part of the telephone chain — they are free-build areas where you can create whatever you like, practice building techniques, or store long-term projects. You can have multiple realms and return to them at any time.

Entering the realm manager

Type /realm (or the aliases /os or /myrealm) from anywhere in-game to open the realm manager. The manager displays all of your existing realms as icons in a grid view.
1

Open the realm manager

Type /realm from the hub or any other level. The realm manager loads and shows all realms you have created. If you have no realms yet, only the “Create a realm” icon is shown.
2

Create a new realm

Double-click the “Create a realm” icon by breaking or placing a block on it twice in quick succession. A new 256×256×256 realm is created and you are teleported into it immediately.
3

Enter an existing realm

Double-click any existing realm icon in the manager grid to join that realm. The realm loads and places you inside the build space.
Only the realm owner can build inside a realm. Other players who enter the same realm can look around but cannot place or remove blocks.
4

Build freely in your 256×256×256 space

Each realm is a 256×256×256 voxel volume — significantly larger than the 64×64×64 game build space. All standard building commands and VCR (undo/redo) modes are available. Use /help to see the full list of building tools.
5

Change the realm template with /template

The template determines the starting state of your realm’s background and floor. While inside your realm, run:
/template builder
/template empty
/template animation
  • builder — adds a reference floor and grid to help with proportions.
  • empty — a blank void with no background geometry.
  • animation — a special layout for creating frame-by-frame animations (only available in 256×256×256 spaces).
Your template choice is saved to your realm document and is restored the next time the realm loads.

How realm previews are saved

When the realm owner leaves a realm (and no other players remain), the server automatically saves a downsampled preview of the realm’s current state. This preview — stored at 64×64×64 resolution — is what appears as the realm’s thumbnail icon in the realm manager grid.
The preview is captured from the owner’s block data at the moment they disconnect. You do not need to do anything to save your work; builds persist between sessions automatically.

Returning to the hub

Type /main (or /hub) at any time to leave your realm and return to the hub. Your build is preserved exactly as you left it.
