Terrain Palette

Diorite Mines feature a simple two-material palette:

Surface Layers (2 blocks deep)

  • Stone (dominant - 3 parts)
  • Diorite (1 part)

Subsurface Layer (1 block deep)

  • Stone (dominant - 3 parts)
  • Diorite (1 part)

Deepslate Transition

Below Y-level 7, terrain uses the DIORITE_MINES_DEEPSLATE palette.
Diorite appears at a 1:3 ratio with stone, creating veins and pockets throughout the cave system.

Features

Diorite Mines are primarily defined by their terrain palette and do not include additional feature decorations.

Environment

Diorite Mines are the brightest of the three vanilla stone variant mine biomes. The speckled white appearance of diorite mixed with regular stone creates naturally bright caves. These caves feel clean and open compared to darker cave biomes.
This biome is perfect for gathering diorite for building projects, particularly for players who prefer bright stone materials.

Palette Configuration

The terrain generation uses:
  • Sampler Type: Cellular with domain warp
  • Frequency: 0.08 (surface), 0.8 (subsurface)
  • Warp Frequency: 0.01 (surface), 0.1 (subsurface)
  • Dimensions: 2D sampling
