Overview

Biome ID: GRANITE_MINES
Vanilla Replacement: minecraft:dripstone_caves
Color Code: #A77663

Terrain Palette

Granite Mines feature a simple two-material palette:

Surface Layers (2 blocks deep)

  • Stone (dominant - 3 parts)
  • Granite (1 part)

Subsurface Layer (1 block deep)

  • Stone (dominant - 3 parts)
  • Granite (1 part)

Deepslate Transition

Below Y-level 7, terrain uses the GRANITE_MINES_DEEPSLATE palette.
Granite appears at a 1:3 ratio with stone, creating veins and pockets throughout the cave system.

Features

Granite Mines are primarily defined by their terrain palette and do not include additional feature decorations.

Environment

Granite Mines offer a straightforward mining-focused cave biome. The reddish-brown granite creates warm color accents throughout otherwise standard stone caves. These biomes feel like natural underground quarries where granite is readily accessible.
This biome is ideal for gathering large amounts of granite for building projects without needing to search for scattered pockets.

Palette Configuration

The terrain generation uses:
  • Sampler Type: Cellular with domain warp
  • Frequency: 0.08 (surface), 0.8 (subsurface)
  • Warp Frequency: 0.01 (surface), 0.1 (subsurface)
  • Dimensions: 2D sampling
