HuellAR is designed to be as effortless as taking a photo. From launching the app to saving a memory, the entire experience is built around a simple three-step flow. This page walks you through each step, explains the underlying augmented reality technology, and gives you practical tips for the best results.

The Three-Step Flow

Open the App & Point Your Camera

Launch HuellAR on your iOS or Android device. The app immediately activates your phone’s camera and begins analysing the space in front of you. Point the camera at the floor, ground, or any flat surface where you want your pet to appear — indoors or outdoors, your living room or a park bench.

Choose Your Pet

Once HuellAR has mapped the surface, browse your in-app pet collection and select the animal you want to place. Your pet will appear in the scene at true life-size scale, positioned naturally in the real-world environment your camera is capturing.

Enjoy, Capture & Save

Walk around your pet, change angles, and interact with the scene. When the moment feels right, tap to take an AR photo or record an AR video. Every capture is automatically saved to your personal HuellAR memory gallery, ready to share or revisit whenever you like.

The Technology Behind HuellAR

HuellAR relies on the augmented reality frameworks built into modern iOS and Android devices. When you open the app, the camera feed is analysed in real time to detect flat surfaces — floors, tables, pavements — using a process called plane detection. Once a suitable surface is found, HuellAR anchors a three-dimensional model of your pet to that plane, scaling it to accurate life-size proportions and adjusting lighting so the virtual animal blends naturally with the real environment around it. All of this processing happens on-device, which means HuellAR works without a continuous internet connection once your pet collection has been loaded. The result is a smooth, responsive experience that keeps your pet looking like it truly belongs in the scene — whether you are sitting still or moving around.
For the sharpest AR placement, use HuellAR in a well-lit environment and point your camera at an unobstructed, evenly-lit flat surface such as a hardwood floor, concrete pavement, or a tiled room. Avoid very dark spaces or highly reflective surfaces like mirrors and polished marble, as these can make plane detection less reliable. Natural daylight or bright indoor lighting produces the most realistic results.
