The AR camera is the heart of HuellAR. It transforms your phone’s camera into a window where your pet appears right in front of you — in your living room, at your desk, or anywhere you choose. By combining your camera feed with augmented reality, HuellAR overlays a life-size model of your pet directly onto the real world around you.

How the AR Camera Works

HuellAR uses your phone’s camera combined with AR technology to detect flat surfaces in your environment and anchor your pet in 3D space at true life-size scale. As you move your phone, the AR model stays grounded in the scene, giving you the feeling that your pet is genuinely there with you.
  • Live camera view with AR overlay — your camera feed is displayed in real time with your pet rendered on top of it, seamlessly blended into the scene.
  • Surface detection — HuellAR scans the environment using an AR grid to find flat, stable surfaces. A scan-frame effect appears while the app analyses the space around you.
  • HUD pet indicator — a heads-up display tag in the corner of the camera view shows which pet is currently active, so you always know who you are placing in the scene.
  • Life-size scale (“Tamaño real”) — your pet appears at its actual real-world size. A cat looks like a cat; a dog looks like a dog — not a miniature or an exaggerated model.

Camera Permissions

HuellAR requires access to your device camera to enable all AR features. Without camera permission, the app cannot function.
1

Grant camera access on first launch

The first time you open HuellAR, the app will request permission to access your camera. A system dialog will appear automatically.
2

Tap Allow

Tap Allow (or Allow While Using App on iOS) to grant permission. This is required for all AR features in HuellAR.
3

Re-enable permission if denied

If you accidentally tapped Deny, go to your device Settings → HuellAR → Camera and toggle camera access back on. On Android, this is found under Settings → Apps → HuellAR → Permissions.

Tips for the Best AR Experience

Getting great AR results comes down to your environment. These tips will help you get the most out of every session.

Good Lighting

AR tracking works best in well-lit conditions. Bright natural light or a well-lit room helps HuellAR detect surfaces accurately and keep your pet anchored in place.

Flat Surfaces

Point the camera at flat, uncluttered surfaces — a floor, a table, or a pavement. The AR grid needs a clear, even area to latch on to.

Stable Hold

Hold your phone steadily while the surface scan completes. Moving too quickly before the AR environment is set can cause the pet model to drift or reset.

Enough Space

Give yourself room to move. Stepping back or circling around your pet reveals the life-size model from different angles and makes for much more impressive shots.
Outdoors or in brightly lit rooms gives the best AR tracking results. Avoid very dark environments or spaces with highly reflective floors, as these can make surface detection less reliable.
