The Nintendo Channel (called Minna no Nintendo Channel — みんなのニンテンドーチャンネル — in Japan) was a one-stop hub for Nintendo content. It offered downloadable Nintendo DS game demos, video trailers for upcoming Wii and DS games, game recommendations based on your playtime, and play records you could share with friends. Forecast Channel
The Forecast Channel is one of the most beloved WiiConnect24 services, delivering real-time weather forecasts through a beautifully rendered interactive 3D globe. AnyGlobe Changer
Because the Forecast Channel requires a specific city to be set as your home location, the WiiLink Patcher automatically downloads the AnyGlobe Changer homebrew app alongside your Forecast Channel installation. AnyGlobe Changer lets you set any city in the world as your forecast location directly from the Homebrew Channel, without needing to go through the original setup flow.Dolphin Emulator users receive AnyGlobe Changer v1.0 sourced from GitHub, as the current Open Shop Channel release has a known compatibility issue with Dolphin. Wii and vWii users receive the latest version from the Open Shop Channel automatically.
News Channel
The News Channel delivered up-to-the-minute global news headlines directly to the Wii, sourced from wire services and organized by category (world, sports, technology, and more). The Everybody Votes Channel presented fun, lighthearted poll questions — from everyday preferences to quirky hypotheticals — and let you compare your answers against the global Wii community after voting. Check Mii Out Channel / Mii Contest Channel
The Check Mii Out Channel (known as the Mii Contest Channel — Miiコンテストチャンネル — in Europe and Japan) was a community-driven channel centered around Mii creation. Users could browse thousands of Miis uploaded by players around the world, participate in themed contests (such as creating the best celebrity lookalike), and download popular Miis to use in games. Region Selection
WiiConnect24 channels are region-specific. Each channel (Forecast, News, Nintendo Channel, etc.) has separate USA, Europe, and Japan builds, and you must install the variant that corresponds to your intended setup.- Express Install — During Step 1 of the Express Install, you choose a single region (North America / NTSC-U, Europe / PAL, or Japan / NTSC-J). The patcher then installs the correct regional variants of all WiiConnect24 channels automatically. See the Express Install guide.
- Custom Install — You select each WiiConnect24 channel variant individually, allowing you to mix regions if needed. See the Custom Install guide.
