Custom Install produces the same patched WAD files as Express Install, but puts you in full control of which channels are included. Instead of installing everything for a given region, you browse a combined list of every available WiiLink regional and WiiConnect24 channel — across all regions and language variants — and check off exactly the ones you want. This is the right choice if you only need a specific region’s Forecast Channel, want the Japanese Wii no Ma alongside an English Nintendo Channel, or simply prefer to keep your install lean.Documentation Index

Installation Steps
Select Custom Install from the main menu
Launch the WiiLink Patcher and press 2 at the main menu to enter Custom Install.
Select channels to install
The patcher presents a combined paginated list of all available WiiLink regional and WiiConnect24 channels — up to 9 channels per page. Use the following controls:
Each channel displays its current state — Selected (highlighted in green) or Not selected (shown in grey) — so you can see your choices at a glance. You must select at least one channel before pressing Enter to continue.

Food Channel (Dominos) is available for US and Canada users only. Selecting it also includes the Internet Channel for your region so you can track your order in-browser.
Choose your platform
Select the platform you are installing onto:
Choosing vWii automatically includes the EULA channel WAD when one or more WiiConnect24 channels are selected. Choosing Dolphin skips the SD card step and saves files locally for import through the Dolphin interface.

Review and confirm your selection
A summary screen displays all selected channels in three columns — WiiConnect24 Channels, Regional Channels, and Console Platform — before any patching begins. Review the list and choose:
- Yes — proceed to the SD card step and start patching
- No, start over — clears all selections and returns to the channel list
- No, go back to Main Menu — clears all selections and exits Custom Install
If you chose vWii and selected at least one WiiConnect24 channel, the summary screen will note that the EULA channel will be included automatically.
Insert your SD card
The patcher detects any connected removable drive. Choose how to handle the output files:
- Start with SD Card / USB Drive — files are copied to the root of the detected drive automatically
- Start without SD Card / USB Drive — files are saved to a
WiiLink/folder next to the patcher - Manually select SD Card / USB Drive path — enter the drive letter or mount path yourself
Patching runs automatically
No further interaction is needed after the SD card step. The patcher downloads patch assets, processes each selected channel in order, and copies the finished WAD and apps folders to your SD card or the local
WiiLink/ folder. A live progress bar tracks each channel as it moves from not started → in progress → done.When finished, the patcher shows a Patching Completed! screen with instructions for installing the WADs on your console using a WAD manager.Available Channels
