Express Install is the fastest way to get WiiLink up and running. It automatically patches and prepares every WiiConnect24 service channel for your chosen region, and optionally bundles in all four WiiLink regional channels — no need to pick individual channels or configure anything by hand. If you just want everything working with minimal fuss, this is the mode to use.
First time setting up WiiLink? Express Install is the recommended path. It covers all core channels in one pass and handles region selection for you.

Installation Steps

1

Launch the patcher and select Express Install

Run the WiiLink Patcher. At the main menu you will see three setup options:
  • 1. Start Express Install Setup (Recommended)
    1. Start Custom Install Setup (Advanced)
    1. Install Extra Channels (Optional)
Press 1 to enter Express Install.
2

Choose your WiiConnect24 region

The patcher asks which region to use for all WiiConnect24 service channels — Nintendo Channel, Forecast Channel, News Channel, Everybody Votes Channel, and Check Mii Out / Mii Contest Channel.
ChoiceRegion codeCovers
1North America (NTSC-U)USA and Canada
2Europe (PAL)Europe and PAL territories
3Japan (NTSC-J)Japan
Your region selection determines which regional version of every WiiConnect24 channel gets patched. For example, selecting North America patches the Nintendo Channel (USA) and Check Mii Out Channel (USA), while selecting Japan patches Minna no Nintendo Channel and Mii Contest Channel (Japan) instead.
3

Choose whether to install WiiLink regional channels

After selecting your WiiConnect24 region, the patcher asks if you want to include WiiLink’s regional channel services. Press 1 for Yes or 2 for No.If you choose Yes, the following four channels will also be patched and included:
  • Wii Room (Wii no Ma) — a living-room-style social channel
  • Photo Prints Channel (Digicam Print Channel) — order photo prints from your Wii
  • Food Channel (Demae Channel) — browse and order food delivery
  • Kirby TV Channel — watch Kirby anime episodes
If you choose Yes, the patcher will next ask you to pick a language for Wii Room, Photo Prints Channel, and Food Channel:
  • Translated — choose from English, Español, Français, Deutsch, Italiano, Nederlands, Português (Brasil), or Русский
  • Japanese — installs the original Japanese versions (Wii no Ma and Demae Channel Standard)
For the Food Channel (translated version), you will also be asked which version to install:
  • Standard — simulated ordering (Fake Ordering) available everywhere
  • Domino’s — real Domino’s Pizza ordering integration
Food Channel with Domino’s ordering is available in the United States and Canada only. If you are outside those regions, select Standard instead.
If you choose No, only the WiiConnect24 service channels for your selected region are patched, and the patcher moves straight to platform selection.
4

Select your platform

Choose which platform you are installing the patched channels onto:
ChoicePlatformNotes
1WiiStandard Wii console
2vWii (Wii U)Wii mode on a Wii U
3Dolphin EmulatorPC emulator; skips SD card step
If you select vWii (Wii U), the EULA channel WAD is automatically included in the output. This is required for WiiConnect24 channels to function correctly on vWii and happens without any extra steps on your part.
Selecting Dolphin Emulator bypasses the SD card step entirely, since Dolphin reads WADs directly from your computer’s file system.
5

Insert your SD card (or skip)

The patcher auto-detects any connected removable drives (SD card or USB drive). At this screen you can:
  • Start with SD Card / USB Drive — WAD and apps folders are copied directly to the root of your removable drive when patching finishes
  • Start without SD Card / USB Drive — all files are saved to a WiiLink/ folder in the same directory as the patcher on your computer
  • Manually select SD Card / USB Drive path — enter a drive letter (Windows) or mount path (Linux / macOS) yourself
If you skip SD card detection, copy the WAD and apps folders from the WiiLink/ folder to the root of your SD card or USB drive before installing the WADs on your console.
6

Patching runs automatically

Once you pass the SD card step, no further input is needed. The patcher downloads all required patch files and processes each channel in sequence:
  1. Pre-Patching — downloads patch assets
  2. Patching WiiConnect24 Channels — Nintendo Channel, Forecast Channel, News Channel, Everybody Votes Channel, Check Mii Out / Mii Contest Channel
  3. Patching Regional Channels (if selected) — Wii Room, Photo Prints Channel, Food Channel, Kirby TV Channel
  4. Post-Patching — copies files to SD card or saves to the WiiLink/ folder and cleans up temporary files
A live progress bar and per-channel status indicators keep you informed throughout. When it is done, the patcher displays a Patching Completed! screen with next-step instructions.
