Filler lists are curated collections of short videos — commercials, bumpers, station IDs, interstitials, and similar clips — that Tunarr plays automatically during Flex time segments. Instead of leaving gaps in your schedule silent or black, Tunarr pulls content from your filler lists to keep the stream feeling like live television. A filler list can be assigned to one or many channels, and the same list can serve different roles (head, pre, post, tail, and more) depending on how you configure your scheduling tools.Documentation Index

Sourcing Filler Content
Finding filler videos is half the fun. DizqueTV’s Wiki maintains a community-curated list of filler repositories, many of which are YouTube playlists. You can use a tool like MeTube to download a playlist, add the resulting folder as a library in Plex or Jellyfin, and then point Tunarr’s filler list at that library.Creating Your First Filler List
Create a new filler list
Click New to open the filler list creation form. Give the list a descriptive name — for example, Retro Commercials or Network Bumpers.
Add media
Click Add Media. A media browser opens showing your connected media sources. Navigate to the library that contains your filler videos.
Select items
Click Add Movie (or the equivalent item button) for each clip you want to include. Use the panel on the right side to review your selections at any time.
Assigning a Filler List to a Channel
Once a filler list exists, you connect it to a channel through the channel’s Flex settings.- Open the channel editor for the channel you want to update.
- Navigate to the Flex tab.
- Select your filler list from the available options and save the channel.
Filler Types
When using slot-based scheduling tools such as the Slot Editor or Time Slot Editor, filler lists can be assigned to specific positions within a slot. This gives you fine-grained control over the feel of each block.| Type | When It Plays |
|---|---|
| Head | At the very beginning of each slot, before any content |
| Pre | Immediately before each program within a slot |
| Post | Immediately after each program within a slot |
| Tail | At the very end of each slot, after all content |
| Mid | During mid-roll breaks inserted within a program |
| Fallback | During general flex time within the slot when no other type applies |
These filler types are only available when using slot-based schedulers. When you assign a filler list directly to a channel via the Flex tab, the list is used solely to fill general flex time — no Head/Pre/Post/Tail distinction is applied.
