What is a Workspace?
A workspace represents your product, company, or project. It contains all your feedback boards, roadmaps, changelogs, and team settings in one central location. Each workspace operates independently with:- Unique subdomain: Access your workspace at
your-workspace.featul.com - Custom branding: Configure logos, colors, and themes
- Team collaboration: Invite members with different permission levels
- Isolated data: Keep feedback separate across different products or brands
Creating a Workspace
When you first sign up for Featul, you’ll be guided through creating your first workspace:- Choose a unique slug (e.g.,
acmeforacme.featul.com) - Enter your workspace name
- Configure initial settings
- Set up your first feedback board
Workspace slugs are reserved once chosen and cannot be changed. Choose carefully!
Workspace Settings
General Settings
Workspace Name: The display name shown throughout the interface and to your users. Subdomain: Your uniqueworkspace-slug.featul.com address where users access your feedback portal.
Timezone: Set your workspace timezone for accurate timestamps on posts, comments, and changelog entries.
Branding & Appearance
Customize your workspace to match your brand identity:- Logo: Upload a custom logo displayed in the navigation
- Primary Color: Set your brand color (hex format)
- Theme: Choose from light, dark, or system-based themes
- Hide Branding: Remove “Powered by Featul” footer (Professional plan)
Custom Domains
For a fully white-labeled experience, connect your own domain:- Navigate to workspace settings
- Enter your desired custom domain (e.g.,
feedback.yourcompany.com) - Add the required DNS records:
- CNAME record pointing to
origin.featul.com - TXT record for domain verification
- CNAME record pointing to
- Wait for DNS propagation and verification
Team Management
Workspaces support collaborative team workflows with role-based permissions.Team Roles
Owner: Full control over the workspace, including billing and deletion. Each workspace has one owner. Admin: Can manage workspace settings, boards, members, and all content. Admins have nearly all permissions except billing management. Member: Can moderate content, respond to feedback, and manage assigned tasks. Standard role for team members. Viewer: Read-only access to internal workspace content. Perfect for stakeholders who need visibility without editing permissions.Inviting Team Members
- Go to workspace settings → Team
- Click “Invite Member”
- Enter the email address
- Select a role
- Send the invitation
Custom Permissions
Beyond roles, you can grant granular permissions to team members:- Manage Workspace: Edit workspace settings
- Manage Billing: Access subscription and payment settings
- Manage Members: Invite and remove team members
- Manage Boards: Create, edit, and delete feedback boards
- Moderate All Boards: Review and moderate posts across all boards
- Configure Branding: Update logos, colors, and themes
Workspace Access Control
Public vs. Private Workspaces
Control who can view and submit feedback: Public Boards: Anyone can view and submit feedback (with optional anonymous posting) Private Boards: Only workspace members can access and contribute Mixed Access: Configure different visibility levels per board within the same workspaceAnonymous Feedback
Enable anonymous submissions on public boards to lower barriers for user feedback. Anonymous users are tracked via browser fingerprints to prevent spam and duplicate votes while preserving privacy.Workspace Plans
