Todobar reminders appear as in-app toasts inside the sidebar itself rather than as operating system notifications. This keeps your desktop clean while still alerting you when a task is due. You can set a reminder when you first capture a task, or add and adjust one at any time using the quick-cycle bell icon on an existing task.Documentation Index

How reminder toasts work
When a task’s reminder time arrives, a toast notification appears inside the Todobar panel for 9 seconds. Up to 3 toasts can be visible at the same time — if a fourth reminder fires while three are already showing, the oldest one is pushed out. Clicking a toast navigates you to the calendar day associated with that reminder so you can act on the task immediately.Setting a reminder when capturing a task
When you type a new task in any capture input (in Today, a calendar day, or a custom list), a date-time field is available next to the text input. Click it, choose a date and time, and then press Enter to add the task. The reminder is set at the moment the task is created.Quick reminder cycling
For tasks that already exist, click the bell icon on the task row to cycle through reminder presets without opening a date picker. The cycle works as follows:| Bell state | What it does |
|---|---|
| No reminder set | Sets reminder to now + 30 minutes |
| Reminder set (before tomorrow 9 am) | Moves reminder to next day at 9:00 am |
| Reminder set (at or after tomorrow 9 am) | Clears the reminder entirely |
