Local playlists are stored in Metrolist’s on-device database and are not automatically synced back to YouTube Music. If you want a playlist to appear in your YouTube Music account, create it while logged in and enable syncing when prompted.
Creating a local playlist

Tap Playlists in the Library filter chips at the top of the Library screen.
2

Select Add to playlist from the menu. A list of your local playlists appears.
3

- Shuffle: Tap ⋮ on the playlist and select Shuffle to start playback in a random order.
- The playlist name appears as the queue title in the player.
Importing playlists from YouTube Music
When you are logged in, your YouTube Music playlists are synced automatically and appear in the Playlists filter. You can also force a sync by pulling-to-refresh on the Library screen. Imported playlists are stored locally and link back to their YouTube Music counterpart. Edits you make (renaming, reordering, removing songs) are synced back to YouTube Music.Importing playlists from a CSV file
Metrolist supports importing playlists from CSV files. The CSV import dialog is scrollable, which makes it easy to review large playlists before importing.1
Open the Playlists filter
Tap Playlists in the Library filter chips.
2
Open the playlist menu
Tap ⋮ at the top of the screen, or long-press an existing playlist, and look for Import from CSV.
3
Select your CSV file
The file picker opens. Navigate to your CSV file and select it.
4
Review and confirm
The import dialog shows the songs found in the file. Scroll through the list to review, then confirm to import.
The CSV import crashed in earlier versions. This was fixed in v13.3.0 — make sure you are running v13.3.0 or later for reliable CSV imports.
Exporting playlists to CSV
You can export any local playlist to a CSV file for backup or use in another app (added in v13.3.0).1
Open the playlist
Navigate to the playlist you want to export.
2
Open the playlist context menu
Tap ⋮ in the top bar or long-press the playlist in the Playlists screen.
3
Tap Export to CSV
Select Export to CSV from the context menu. Metrolist generates the file and opens a share sheet so you can save or send it.
Deleting a playlist
1
Open the playlist
Navigate to the playlist you want to delete.
2
Open the context menu
Tap ⋮ in the top bar, or long-press the playlist entry in the Playlists screen.
3
Tap Delete
Select Delete playlist and confirm. If the playlist is linked to a YouTube Music playlist, Metrolist also deletes it from your YouTube Music account.
