Metrolist records every song you play locally on your device. The Stats screen surfaces that data as ranked lists and aggregated totals, while the History screen shows a chronological log of every playback event.

Accessing stats and history

Both screens are reached from the Library tab:
  • Library → Stats — ranked listening statistics for songs, artists, and albums
  • Library → History — chronological playback log grouped by date

Stats screen

Use the Stats screen to rediscover songs you used to play constantly. Sort by play count or total listening time to find tracks you may have forgotten.

Stat period filter

A row of filter chips at the top of the Stats screen controls which time window is used for all statistics. You can switch between four view modes:

Continuous

A rolling window — choose 1 week, 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, 1 year, or all time. This is the default mode.

Weeks

Browse statistics week by week going back to your first recorded playback event.

Months

View statistics month by month. Multi-year months show the year label to avoid ambiguity.

Years

Aggregate stats grouped by calendar year.

What is tracked

Each song’s statistics include:
  • Play count — the number of times you have played the song
  • Total listening time — cumulative duration played in milliseconds, displayed as a formatted time string
The Stats screen surfaces this data in three ranked lists: Each item shows a ranked position number, a thumbnail, the play count, and the formatted listening time.

Playing from stats

Tap any song in the top songs list to start a YouTube Music radio from that track. If you want to play all your top songs in order, tap the Play all button next to the songs section header. A shuffle FAB is also available — tap it to play your top songs in a random order. Added in v13.3.0.

Time transfer

The time transfer tool lets you move accumulated listening time from one song to another. This is useful if two entries in your library represent the same track (for example, a duplicate from a different album or upload). To open time transfer, tap the sync icon in the top bar of the Stats screen. Select the source song (the one whose time you want to move) and the destination song, then confirm. The stats screen automatically switches to the All time view while the dialog is open so you can see the full accumulated time for both songs. Added in v13.4.0.

Stat playlists

When you are signed in to YouTube Music, the Stats screen also shows automatically generated playlists — your weekly and monthly most-played collections, plus recap playlists from your YouTube Music account.

Searching artists

Tap the search icon in the top bar to filter the artist list by name. Select one or more artists using the checkboxes to compare their stats side by side.

History screen

The History screen shows every playback event in reverse chronological order, grouped by relative date label (Today, Yesterday, This Week, Last Week, then month/year for older entries).

Local vs. remote history

If you are signed in to YouTube Music, a chip row at the top of the screen lets you switch between:
  • Local history — playback events recorded by Metrolist on your device
  • Remote history — your listening history as stored by YouTube Music on Google’s servers
Remote history is fetched on demand when you select that tab.

Playing from history

Tap any song in local history to start a queue containing all songs from the same date group, starting from the tapped entry. Tap a song in remote history to start a YouTube Music radio from that track.

Searching history

Tap the search icon in the top bar to filter both local and remote history by song title or artist name.

Selecting and acting on entries

Long-press any local history entry to enter selection mode. Check additional songs, then tap the overflow menu to access bulk actions such as adding to a playlist or queue.

Shuffling history

A shuffle FAB appears at the bottom right of the screen. Tap it to play all visible history entries in a random order.
