Viewing the queue

While a song is playing, tap the queue icon in the player controls to open the current queue. The queue panel shows all upcoming tracks in order, with the currently playing song highlighted.

Reordering and removing songs

  • Reorder — drag the handle on the right side of any song row to move it to a different position.
  • Remove — swipe a song left or right to remove it from the queue. This uses the Swipe to remove gesture available throughout the queue panel.

Adding songs to the queue

When you tap a song to play it, Metrolist replaces the current queue with the new selection. To add songs without replacing the queue, use the song context menu (long-press or tap the three-dot icon):

Shuffle mode

Tap the shuffle icon in the player controls to toggle shuffle on or off. When shuffle is active, Metrolist randomizes the order of all tracks in the queue using DefaultShuffleOrder.
When enabled, shuffle stays on when you switch to a new queue (for example, when you start playing a different album or playlist). Enable it under Settings → Player & Audio → Queue → Persistent shuffle across queues.
Metrolist remembers your shuffle and repeat state between app restarts. This is enabled by default and can be turned off under Settings → Player & Audio → Queue → Remember shuffle and repeat.
When you start playing a playlist or album in shuffle mode, this option shuffles the tracks immediately on load instead of starting at the first track. Enable it under Settings → Player & Audio → Queue → Shuffle playlist first.

Repeat modes

Tap the repeat icon in the player controls to cycle through the three repeat modes:

Off

Plays through the queue once and stops.

Repeat all

Loops the entire queue continuously.

Repeat one

Loops the current track indefinitely.

Persistent queue

The queue is saved to disk whenever it changes and is restored automatically when you reopen Metrolist. This means your queue survives app restarts, reboots, and crashes. Persistent queue is enabled by default. You can turn it off under Settings → Player & Audio → Queue → Persistent queue.

Auto-load more

When the end of the queue is approaching, Metrolist automatically loads additional related tracks to extend playback. This is powered by YouTube Music’s “watch next” API (the same data used for radio queues). Auto-load more is enabled by default. Configure it under Settings → Player & Audio → Queue:
  • Auto-load more — toggle automatic queue extension on or off.
  • Disable auto-load when repeat all is on — stops auto-loading when Repeat All is active, so the queue stays finite and loops cleanly.

Radio mode

Radio mode starts a YouTube Music radio seeded from the current song. It uses the RDAMVM{videoId} playlist endpoint to build a continuously refreshing queue of related tracks.
1

Open the song menu

Long-press a song, or tap the three-dot menu in the player or queue.
2

Start radio

Tap Start radio. Metrolist loads the radio queue immediately, starting seamlessly from the currently playing track so playback is not interrupted.
Radio can also be started from an album or artist context menu. The seeding track changes depending on where you launch it from.
You can also start radio from an album, artist, or playlist page using the same context menu.

Prevent duplicate tracks

When enabled, Metrolist checks whether a song is already in the queue before adding it, and skips the duplicate if it is. Enable it under Settings → Player & Audio → Queue → Prevent duplicate tracks in queue.

Auto-skip on error

When a song cannot be played (for example, because it is unavailable or you are offline and it is not cached), Metrolist can automatically skip it and move to the next track. Enable this under Settings → Player & Audio → Queue → Auto-skip on error.

Similar content

Metrolist can surface a Similar content section at the end of the queue showing tracks related to what you have been listening to. Toggle it under Settings → Player & Audio → Queue → Enable similar content.
